With the start of a new year will come changes at Disney World. Let’s look at some of the problems you could face in Disney World in 2024.
Halloween and Disney are two of our favorite things.
This is Halloween!
The only thing that could make either of these things better is merchandise that features BOTH of them. We’ve seen lots of Disney Halloween merchandise already this year, and it’s only August! Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party kicks off on August 11th, though, so that just means we get to celebrate spooky season a little extra. If you’re just like us and LOVE some spooky Disney merchandise, or if you’re headed to the parks this fall and need some Halloween bling to wear, then this post is for you.
The battle between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the board of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (formerly Reedy Creek Improvement District), and Disney continues — and there have been some NEW developments.
Disney vs. DeSantis
Earlier in 2023, Disney filed a federal lawsuit against DeSantis and members of the board of the District arguing that there has been a violation of Disney’s federal rights. Basically, Disney has alleged that DeSantis has waged a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power” against Disney to punish them for their political views. We’ve seen a number of actions taken in the federal case over the last few months, but now there’s something NEW to tackle.
Okay, so Disney often releases some really…interesting merchandise.
Merchandise
Sometimes, the weirdest souvenirs are actually useful, though (like the Donald Duck phone holder). Sometimes the souvenirs are just kinda’ gross. Then there’s the Ferret Farts Lip Balm. Yep. That’s a thing that really happened. However, we think we might’ve just found what could end up being Disney’s most ANNOYING souvenir –– and trust us, if you have kids, DO NOT BUY THIS.
Someone please tell us we’re not the only ones with a closet full of Mickey ears that we only wore twice and then promptly forgot about when the next new pair caught our eye.

There are lots of very not-practical Disney souvenirs out there, but you can also find Disney merchandise that you’ll actually use every. single. day. Seriously! During Iger’s first term as CEO at Disney, he made some big acquisitions of other companies, like Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm. But might it be time for Iger’s legacy to be a different one — not of buying other companies, but of selling the one he’s in charge of? It’s possible and perhaps inevitable, according to one analyst.
