Over the years of visiting Disney World daily, we’ve rounded up a pretty hefty list of our favorite snacks.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
From the delicious Dole Whip treats to the yummy Adventureland spring rolls to our beloved Cheeseburger Pods in Pandora, there are plenty of great things to eat on your Disney vacation! But recently, it looks like Disney quietly CHANGED one of our favorite snacks. And we’re not happy about it!
The Wookie Cookie has been a staple at Backlot Express for a few years now, and it has been a fan-favorite snack for Star Wars lovers and those who appreciate a simple oatmeal creme pie. But we got a heads-up from some of our followers on Instagram that the cookie changed recently…so I had to go check it out!

I headed to Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios and purchased one of the cookies for $6.79. Lo and behold, this definitely looks different than its predecessor!
This cookie is not the same!
When I took a bite, I found that the cookies were not quite as soft as the former version, and overall less similar to a Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie. One of the complaints we heard about the new cookies is that they were hard and crunchy, and while mine were not, I could definitely see how these would be crunchy if you overbaked them a little bit.

My main problem now is with the cookie filling. It has essentially no flavor besides just sugar. I would love some vanilla in here or more creaminess to it overall, but it was just whipped sugar and not much else. Nothing to write home about.

Ultimately, I do think this updated cookie is a bit of a downgrade from the original. I might not recommend this version as heartily anymore. Here’s to hoping they change it back to the OG soon!

Any chance at all that Staring Rolls Cafe will reopen? That was the best place in Hollywood Studios to get a counter service lunch. We loved the food and desserts there.
