When you visit Disney World, the My Disney Experience app will be your BFF during your trip.
The app gives you TONS of super useful information and even lets you book Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations, sign up for virtual queues, make dining reservations, Mobile Order food, and so much more. Well, we just recently discovered a NEW addition to the app that will make dining even easier in both Disney World AND Disneyland Resort.
We first discovered this handy feature while using the Disneyland app. If you open the app and click on the location icon at the bottom of the screen, you’ll pull up a map of Disneyland. If you click the dropdown arrow at the top of the screen and choose Dining, you’ll get a map with all your dining options. Well, a new feature appears on this map — the wait time for table-service restaurants and lounges! So, for example, when we checked this morning, Carnation Cafe had a 30-minute wait.
Now, seeing the wait times for restaurants in the app isn’t brand-new, but seeing them directly on the map is a recent (and EXCITING) change. So we thought to check the My Disney Experience app, too, and we saw the same thing — the wait times appear directly on the map now. Here’s what we saw in Magic Kingdom. Disney listed the wait times for places like The Crystal Palace and more!
Even more helpful is that you can now click on that wait time and you’ll get a direct link to join the Walk-Up Waitlist. How handy is that?
Restaurant wait times are also listed in the map view for EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
This feature could come in particularly handy if you’re in a specific area and just need to see what restaurant wait times are like in that specific part of the park. We think it’s going to be useful for everyone!

You indicated that you can now see wait times for dining right on the main screen of the Disneyland app. However, I just updated the app and checked and it is not available for me. Or the screen reading software I use is not reading it.

I am not getting wait times on my app

Hi Rita! I’m seeing them, but I don’t know if it’s because I have an iPhone. Make sure you’re clicking on Wait Times, then you can filter by park and choose “Dining” from the dropdown menu.

Using MK app, when looking for dining reservations for 3 people, so many possibilities, yet when looking for 2 people, so many FEWER reservations available! Why can’t 2 people sit at a table for 4…..leaves us out of so many dining possibilities!
