Did you know you can find a “German pavilion” in Disney Springs? While it may not have the same feel as actually being in Germany, or visiting the Germany pavilion in EPCOT, we are reviewing a small stand that offers some German classics.
Disney Springs is the entertainment district of Disney World and features lots of restaurants, shops, and entertainment. If you are craving something in particular or hoping to find a piece of merchandise, you will likely be able to find it in Disney Springs.
Today we are headed to an unassuming stand located in Disney Springs. B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. is in the Marketplace section, with beautiful views of the water and Saratoga Springs Resort. While it may come as no surprise, this stand is serving up artisan sausages and hot dogs with a variety of toppings. It can be easy to walk right past this booth, but today we are stopping in to try some of their food and drinks.
Atmosphere
B.B. Wolf’s is a simple stand located inside of Disney Springs. There is not much to it, you simply go up and order and then grab your food from the pick-up window. You can also Mobile Order through the Disney World app from B.B. Wolf’s! There is no seating specifically for B.B. Wolf’s, but you can find a variety of seating options nearby.
When we were at B.B. Wolf’s there was no line, and we received our food and drink quickly after ordering. Let’s see what grub you can get at B.B. Wolf’s!
Menu
The menu is fairly simple at B.B. Wolf’s and mostly includes a variety of hot dogs and sausage, with some beverage options. There is also a Plant-Based Bratwurst Sausage option. The menu is no-frills, and you can only get one side: chips. You can get a few German classics here: Bratwurst Sausage and German beer.
B.B. Wolf’s usually has a special hot dog, and currently you can get the Tennessee Barbecue Dog. We recently reviewed this menu item, so we didn’t get it this time around, but you can check out the review right here.
Alright, let’s dig in and see what we got to eat and drink.
Food & Drink
We are trying a couple of items at B.B. Wolf’s including the Bratwurst Sausage, Three Little Pigs, and the Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen. Let’s dig in and see how they taste!
We are starting off with the Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Hefeweizen, which is a 16-oz can. This beer is described as easy and refreshing with light notes of citrus and spice with low bitterness. You can get this for $11.50. Even if you are not a fan of beer, you will probably really like this drink — it is the same grapefruit beer served in EPCOT. It has a light grapefruit flavor combined with a slight wheaty flavor. However, the beer flavor is not overpowering, and the drink is light, sweet, and very easy to drink. This is a great beverage to go with the hot dogs, and an especially good option for someone who does not like a strong beer flavor.
Next up, we got the Bratwurst Sausage which has sauerkraut and German mustard and is served on a pretzel roll with chips. This sausage costs $12.29.
Overall, we were not super impressed with this dish. The pretzel bun was stale, and while the bratwurst had pretty good flavor to it, it could have been better. The mustard is your classic yellow mustard. The sausage was really lacking in sauerkraut, and we also wish the sauerkraut was smaller versus the large chunks that we ended up with. We had high hopes for this one, but it was mediocre at best. We wish the bun tasted fresher, and we had more sauerkraut to make up for the average bratwurst sausage.
We also tried the Three Little Pigs which is three mini versions of their Specialty Dogs. These Specialty Dogs are the Pastrami Reuben Dog, Hawaiian Island Dog, and Texas Chili-Cheese Dog. The dish is served with chips and costs $15.29.
Let’s start with the New York Pastrami Reuben dog. This hotdog is served with shaved pastrami, Swiss, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing on a house-made roll. The Russian dressing was really creamy and tasty, and worked well with the rest of the ingredients. The sauce was on the sweet side though. The pastrami was tender and had a slight smoky flavor to it. The sauerkraut was also pretty light on this dish, and we really didn’t taste it amongst the other flavors. The bun was just okay for being advertised as house-made. It was sweet and fluffy, but tasted similar to what you might get from the grocery store. The hot dog itself was great and juicy.
Next, we tried the Texas Chili-Cheese Dog which is topped with chili, cheddar, and corn chips on a house-made roll. This one was exactly what you would expect from a chili-cheese dog. There wasn’t anything special about it, but it still tasted really good! The chili had really good flavor and wasn’t spicy at all. We loved that they added a good amount of cheddar cheese which is needed for a good chili-cheese dog. There were a few Fritos on top, but they fell off whenever we were attempting to eat the hot dog.
Last but not least, let’s talk about the Hawaiian Island Dog. This hot dog is topped with grilled pineapple salsa, spam, and teriyaki on a house-made roll. Yummy! This one was our favorite hot dog we tried. It was the most unique, and the toppings all worked really well together. It is pretty sweet with the teriyaki sauce and pineapple, but the sweet works well with the savoriness of the hot dog. The spam is cut into small chunks in the pineapple salsa, but the spam is cooked well and adds a good almost-meaty flavor to the dog.
The meals at B.B. Wolf’s are all served with a side of chips which happen to be Lay’s Classic potato chips. These are the same chips you can get from anywhere, there isn’t any sort of Disney magic infused to them or anything. These were the only flavor option available while we were there. We just wanted to let you know what to expect when you are at B.B. Wolf’s!
That wraps up everything that we got at B.B. Wolf’s!
Overall
We really enjoyed the Three Little Pigs and the beer, but the Bratwurst Sausage wasn’t worth it for us. We wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to eat at B.B. Wolf’s, but it could be a great option if you are looking for a quick bite while you are in Disney Springs. The food comes out quickly and there usually isn’t too large of a line to order. The menu is pretty simple and perfect if you are craving a hot dog or sausage, but if you have a large group or picky eaters, this may not be the best option as the menu is limited. You can’t find much in the way of healthy options here, and there is only one plant-based option available. With so many great options at Disney Springs, there is steep competition, and B.B. Wolf’s didn’t overly impress us.
Nosh or Not?
You might want to stop by B.B. Wolf’s if…
- You are craving a hotdog. This stand specializes in artisan sausages and hot dogs. If you are in Disney Springs and craving a hot dog, this is the perfect spot for you! They have some unique combinations, and the hot dogs were juicy and flavorful.
- You are looking for a quick spot to grab a bite. If you are feeling hungry and want a quick bite in Disney Springs, look no further! This is an easy stand to stop by and grab a bite to eat. The food comes out quickly and there is no need for a reservation.
- You want to eat overlooking the water. While B.B. Wolf’s does not have a dedicated seating area, it is located right by the water with some pretty great views. There is a fair amount of seating around the stand, so you should be able to find somewhere close by to enjoy your food.
You may want to skip B.B. Wolf’s if…
- You are wanting a really good bratwurst sausage. We wanted to like the Bratwurst Sausage, but it just wasn’t worth it for us. We think you can find a much better Bratwurst Sausage in the Germany Pavilion in EPCOT. We may have just gotten it on an off day, so if you are in Disney Springs and looking for a bratwurst sausage, this could be a good option.
- You want a dining location with a good variety of options. This location specializes in hot dogs and sausage, and that is about all they serve. Perfect if you are wanting to eat one of these things, but not so great if you are wanting a menu with a wide variety of options. Check out some of our favorite Disney Springs restaurants right here.
- You are wanting a healthy or plant-based option. There isn’t really any “healthy” menu options and there is only one plant-based options. If you are looking for a more veggie forward meal, or more variety of plant-based options, B.B. Wolf’s will not be a good option. Some other options could be building your own vegan pizza at Blaze, checking out eet by Maneet Chauhan, or heading to a sit-down restaurant.
