Choosing a hotel for your Disney World trip can be a challenge!
There are quite literally dozens of them available, and there are hundreds and hundreds of rooms in each. With all those options, how do you know you’re making the right choice? Well, we’re here to warn you about a few hotels that you might want to avoid in 2025!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Starting out the list, we’ve got the Polynesian Village Resort, which is getting a pretty major addition in the form of the Island Tower at the end of 2024. The new Disney Vacation Club building is sure to bring a lot of guests to this resort, and that means that your regular amenities may be more crowded — restaurants, transportation, pools, etc.
On top of the new addition, the Polynesian is expected to be under construction through 2026. We’ll make sure to keep you updated with any other changes and closures through that time!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Another place where you might not want to stay in 2025? Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. The Polynesian’s neighbor is likely going to feel the effects of the increase in guests since the two resorts share boat and Monorail transportation. But on top of that, the Grand Floridian is getting some construction work of its own.
This hotel has been under construction for a while now, starting with room refurbishments. More areas of the resort are set to be refurbished in the future, including the lobby.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
If you’re hoping to stay at one of Disney’s Value Resorts in 2025, you should know that Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is getting a major pool refurbishment next year. From January 2025 through April 2025, the Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for routine maintenance.
This is the main pool at the resort, so during its closure, you’ll need to visit the Duck Pond Pool instead. If you’re hoping to have a non-crowded pool experience, then you might want to choose a different All-Star Resort.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Another Value Resort refurb that’s happening in 2025 is over at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, hotel rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment.
All resort amenities will remain available during that time, but you may notice construction noises during daytime hours. Just something to note if it will affect you and your family!
Yacht Club
One hotel that’s getting a LOT of work in 2025 is the Yacht Club. From January 2025 through May 2025, some hotel rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will be under refurbishment, and you could hear construction noise during the daytime. On top of that, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closed from January 2025 through June 2025.
If you want to swim during that time, you’ll need to use one of the resort’s leisure pools.
Beach Club
Beach Club’s main problem in 2025 is the Stormalong Bay closure as well. This pool is one of the biggest draws for guests staying at the two resorts, and it’s incredibly popular for families with children, as it’s the largest pool in Disney World.
So if you’re hoping for that bucket list stay at Yacht Club or Beach Club, you might want to wait until the pool closure has ended. Walking past that awesome pirate-themed waterslide every day will just make you sad otherwise!
Bay Lake Tower
Currently at Bay Lake Tower, some room refurbishments are happening that are scheduled to last through September 2025. You may see and hear construction throughout the daytime hours.
Additionally, the Skybridge between Bay Lake Tower and the Contemporary main tower may experience intermittent closures. You may need to allow for extra travel time between the two buildings during the closures.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter
Add another hotel to the list of those getting room updates! From May 2024 through spring 2025, some hotel rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter will be under refurbishment.
We’ve already seen these new rooms, and they are beautiful! If you’re hoping to stay in one, you may want to wait until the refurbishment is over to guarantee a spot in one of them.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside
Next door at Port Orleans Resort — Riverside, there’s a room refurbishment limited to one area of the hotel. From early April 2025 through the end of January 2026, guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will undergo refurbishment.
Only the rooms in that particular area will be under construction, so this may not affect your trip.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
And last but not least, we have Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. From mid-May 2025 to September 2025, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo refurbishment.
Since Wilderness Lodge isn’t as spread out, you may hear construction noise around the resort during the day. Keep that in mind when booking your stay.

Wow, between all this hotel construction and all the construction going on at the theme parks, I think 2025 is a good year to visit Universal and Dollywood.
