The National Weather Service (NWS) in Melbourne has issued a wind advisory for much of Central Florida, including Orange and Osceola counties, where Disney World is located.
Strong winds are expected to impact the area with gusts of up to 35 miles per hour. If you’re planning to be in the parks today, keep in mind you may be dealing with potentially severe weather.
Southwest winds of 15 to 20 miles per hour are expected to impact the area on average, with some gusts reaching up to 35 miles per hour. Indian River, Martin, Saint Lucie, Volusia, Brevard, Lake, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties are all currently under this wind advisory.
The National Weather Service has issued this warning from 10 AM to 7 PM on Monday, March 10th, 2025. Gusty winds are expected to blow around unsecured objects, while tree limbs may be blown down, and there may be some power outages.
If you’re going to be in Disney World or elsewhere in Central Florida during this advisory, make sure you keep an eye out for any potential debris. Additionally, these strong winds can make driving difficult, so if you’re traveling by car, keep your wits about you! It’s also recommended that you secure any outdoor objects.
The NWS had previously issued a tornado warning for Clermont, Mount Dora, and Minneola earlier in the morning, but that warning expired at 9:30 AM. As of publication, there are no active tornado warnings or watches for Central Florida — but that could change at any moment, so make sure you’re keeping an eye on local weather alerts if you’re in the area.
For folks at Disney World today, it’s important to remember to listen to Cast Members for any potential safety updates — as they’re trained to keep guests safe in inclement weather like this. This also serves as an important reminder that Florida’s weather can be extremely unpredictable!
Stay updated with local weather alerts for the most updated information, in case of any potential issues in the area.
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more updates from Disney World that could impact your next trip. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news.
