Are you ready for a runDisney race?

RunDisney is a series of races held by Disney every year that go through EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, and more! If you can’t get to the theme parks, Disney has finally released the themes for the 2025 Virtual Series and we are in love.
Are you ready to race because runDisney is back in 2025! This hugely popular Disney experience sees fans running a 5K, 10K, a half marathon, or marathon through Disney property with a shiny medal waiting at the end. There are runDisney weekends all throughout the year with rotating themes and high demand every time.

If you have always wanted to participate in these events but can’t make it to the theme parks or don’t want the pressure of running with groups of people, it seems like the virtual races are for you! This year runDisney is celebrating 10 years of offering virtual races with 4 themes inspired by the parks. First up is the Pirates of the Caribbean 5K which will have you running or walking 3.1 miles.

If you want to make running a bit more funny, the next theme is inspired by the Jungle Cruise! We aren’t really runners so this feels like the perfect way to laugh through the pain of running.

Finally, the third 5K option is inspired by Big Thunder Mountain! You could have the wildest run in the wilderness. (Although we can’t say we encourage running through the wilderness!)

For their big grand finale, Disney shared that everyone who signs up and completes all three 5Ks will receive a fourth medal inspired by Happily Ever After, the fan-favorite fireworks show in Magic Kingdom! That’s a total of 9.3 miles for anyone counting.

Event registration opens on April 1st, 2025 and the races can be completed from June 1st through August 31, 2025. We think these themes are too cute and they might even make us consider running. We won’t actually run, but we’ll consider it! If you’re already looking into next year, registration for the 2026 runDisney races opened earlier this month on March 11th.

For anyone in the race at the parks or at home! Happy running and good luck. As always, keep following DFB for all of your Disney news and updates.
