When you need a quick meal at Animal Kingdom, there’s no better option than Eight Spoons Café. This small stand serves its signature baked mac and cheese with stunning views of the Tree of Life. Plus, there’s rarely a wait!
When one of our readers suggested we review a version of their mac and cheese we hadn’t gotten before, we had to try it. Their Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork is one of our favorites, so we ran to Animal Kingdom!
The Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Buffalo Chicken is $12.99 at Eight Spoons Café. This is their signature baked macaroni and cheese topped with buffalo chicken, tangy Italian relish, and blue cheese. Like all of their mac and cheeses, this portion size was so big that it became daunting. Bring your friends!
The mac and cheese was creamy, rich, and the slightly charred edges from baking gave it a crunchy texture to keep things interesting. The buffalo chicken had a subtle kick to it that added complexity without being overwhelming. The tangy Italian relish is sharp and vinegar-forward, but when it hits the mac and cheese, blue cheese, and buffalo chicken, it balances the dish out.
We’d recommend this mac and cheese to anyone in Animal Kingdom wanting a quick bite to eat. The buffalo chicken is very light, so even if you’re not a fan of spicy foods, you’ll probably like this. However, this was very filling – and we’re talking “ready to take a nap” level full. If you have a long walk ahead of you or are headed to a roller coaster afterwards, this might not be the best option.
If you want to grab this Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Buffalo Chicken, it’s available at Eight Spoons Café on Discovery Island in Animal Kingdom. We love their Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork, Buffalo Chicken Chips, and Family Churros. If you’d want to grab a drink with your mac and cheese, we love The Simba Drink! It’s a mango-flavored slushy with grenadine and gummy worms.
We loved this mac and cheese. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney food reviews!
