Soarin’ Around the World Is Now CLOSED at EPCOT

Today is a big day at Disney World, because EPCOT will look totally different soon with the closure of a popular attraction.

Soarin’ Around the World is officially closed at EPCOT! But don’t worry, it’s because a NEW version of the ride is coming soon.

Soarin’ Around the World closed on May 14th so the attraction could be converted to Soarin’ Across America. Soarin’ Around the World isn’t gone for good, but Disney hasn’t announced when it will return to EPCOT just yet. Soarin’ Across America may be a limited-run for Cool Kid Summer, ending on September 8th, or it could last into the fall or winter season. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on when Soarin’ Around the World will come back!

Soarin’ Around the World Seating

Between now and May 25th, Disney will be hard at work switching Soarin’ Around The World over to a brand-new version, Soarin’ Across America. According to permits filed by Walt Disney Imagineering, the week-and-a-half-long closure will notably involve installing set elements. This likely means the signage out front of the ride will be updated to reflect the changes. When we stopped by Soarin’ today, we saw that the signpost has been covered in blue with white stars, with a new red-and-white banner on top!

So patriotic!

Soarin’ Across America will celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the U.S.! This brand-new version of Soarin’ will soar riders across both coasts of the U.S., highlighting some of the country’s iconic landscapes and cityscapes. Locations you’ll visit include New York Harbor, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, and the New England coastline. Soarin’ Across America will officially open on May 26th at EPCOT in Florida.
