Bluey’s Wild World officially opens at Animal Kingdom on May 26th, but Disney opened this new attraction early!
This new family-friendly experience can be found over at Conservation Station, meaning you’ll need to take the Wildlife Express over. At Bluey’s Wild World, you can meet Bluey, have dance parties, play games from the show, and visit a petting zoo with all Australian animals like kangaroos and wallabies! But, this soft opening has exposed some pretty glaring problems with the new attraction.
While we’re super excited for Bluey’s Wild World to be open at Animal Kingdom, we do think it’s going to be a bit chaotic for a while. Even during the soft opening, which likely wasn’t nearly as crowded as the official opening will be, there were a few problems that might cause some headaches down the road.
It’s crowded
Even though we visited during the soft opening, the experience was still plenty crowded — so we really can’t imagine what it’s going to be like once it’s fully open. While Disney is utilizing a Virtual Queue for this experience when it opens, from what we can tell, they aren’t kicking people out after a certain amount of time or anything, so it’s possible that the area will get backed up and more crowded than planned.
Of course, Disney has probably thought of this already and has something planned to mitigate the crowds, like potentially not calling another Virtual Queue return time until enough people have exited Conservation Station, but it’s something we’ll be keeping an eye on during the first few days Bluey’s Wild World is officially open.
It’s loud
Bluey’s Wild World involves interactive games and a dance party — which can both be pretty loud on their own — but when you add a whole lot of excited kiddos into the mix, well, things get pretty darn loud. From what we could tell, Disney didn’t add any sort of acoustic-dampening elements to the space, which is essentially a giant atrium.
Because of this, the music and the kids yelling and screaming can be pretty thunderous — something to keep in mind if you or someone in your party is sensitive to loud noises. It certainly puts the “wild” in Bluey’s Wild World!
It’s not an official meet-and-greet
While we’re thrilled that Bluey and Bingo are now at Disney World, they’re not part of an official meet-and-greet. Kids (and adults) do get to meet and interact with the pair, but it’s pretty quick. It’s not like a traditional meet-and-greet where you have a couple of minutes to interact while posing for photos.
The good news is that Bluey and Bingo do a really great job at working the room — they move around quite a bit and make sure to interact with everyone that comes up to them, so while you may not be able to get a posed photo, you (or your kiddo) should still be able to interact with them.
You have to take a train
Since Bluey’s Wild World is at Conservation Station, the only way to experience the new attraction is by hopping on the Wildlife Express Train. This is especially important to remember because strollers cannot be brought onto the train or to Conservation Station. So, if you have little ones still in strollers, they’ll have to either be carried or walk on their own to the experience — and it can be a bit of a hike from the train station to the actual building where Bluey is.

Not only is the stroller aspect inconvenient, but you’ll have to wait for the train on your way to Bluey’s Wild World AND on your way back, which can be a bit annoying. While the trains do come rather frequently, it’s just one more thing you’ll be waiting in line for at Disney World.
The animals might not be ready
Jumping Junction is home to kangaroos and wallabies, and while in the future, you’ll be able to walk around and get relatively close to the animals, that’s not the case for now. Cast Members said that the animals are still getting used to being here, and they want to make sure that they are completely comfortable before allowing people to get close to them.
They didn’t share when the animals might feel comfortable, so if you’re heading to Bluey’s Wild World shortly after it opens, keep in mind that you might have to look at the animals from a distance for now.
You can only access via Virtual Queue (for now)
If you want to visit Bluey’s Wild World when it officially opens, here’s everything you need to know about the Virtual Queue:
In the morning, before 7 AM, open your My Disney Experience App and on the main page, click on Virtual Queue. Here, it will take you to the Bluey’s Wild World Virtual Queue page. When you get to this page, confirm your party and then wait until 7 AM. Once it hits 7 AM, you’ll be able to try to join the queue. To join the queue at 7 AM, you must have a valid park admission or a theme park reservation if applicable.
And if you don’t get the first drop, don’t worry, there is another drop at 10 AM. However, you should be aware that to participate in the 10 AM drop, you need to be inside the park. Disney has not announced how long this Virtual Queue system will be in place for, so if you have a trip coming up, be prepared to secure a virtual queue if you want to hang with Bluey.
We’ll be on the lookout for even more updates from Animal Kingdom and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and beyond!
