There’s LOTS going on at Disney World’s hotels lately!
Disney’s Beach Club Resort recently (fully) reopened, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting a huge makeover, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will see some changes! And over at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (which officially reopened TODAY!), we’re taking a peek at some refurbished rooms.
We already took you through the reopened hotel, and now we’re heading inside one of the newly renovated rooms to see what’s changed. After all, they got a little spiffying up during the closure! We’re staying in a Standard Room with Two Queen Beds. So let’s take a look around!
One of the most obvious changes in the room is that the patterned carpet has been replaced with hardwood floors. The furniture has also gotten a major upgrade! Instead of old, worn down wood, the closet and mini kitchenette area have a sleeker look. You can even spot a nod to Bambi behind the coffee maker!
The headboards and artwork behind them are also new, and definitely give it a more modern look.
If you look closely, you’ll see the Chip & Dale in the art behind the beds! Do you see them?
The TV has also been upgraded to a larger size and the dresser is brand new! It’s got 6 drawers for storage.
While there used to be a full table with chairs, there is now an adorable sitting area with lovely blue chairs and a small table. Also, check out that unique mirror!
The room as a whole also feels much lighter!
The older curtains used to be super dark, but this new lighter design brightens up the whole room.
The spacious balcony features two chairs and a small table in between them.
Now let’s head into the bathroom! The counters are a nice grey color, and there is a huge mirror for getting ready in the morning!
The room also has TWO sinks!
Like in many other Disney World hotels, the shower area is separate from the sink area with a sliding pocket door.
Well, that wraps up our first look at the NEW rooms at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge! We’ll give you a FULL room tour soon, so be on the lookout for that! And stay tuned to DFB for plenty more Disney news.

getting pretty generic like everywhere else at disney, for the most part you wouldn’t know you were on disney property anymore. these are better than the horrible all star dorms etc, but talk about barren and bland. there is no longer an incentive to staying on property other than being in the vicinity of the parks. the magic has all been sucked out.

I really liked the old rooms, but the bathrooms did need an update. The original time was a bit dated. However, I do agree with the other reviewer that they (Disney) are kinda making all the rooms pretty generic. Maybe this makes it easier for the staff to clean/swap things out? I also can’t wait to get back to my fav hotel! Glad nothing in the lobby and common areas changed!
