We’ve seen our share of weather in Disney World, including storms, hurricanes, and more, and we’re about to see some seriously cold and windy weather over the next few days.
Florida can sometimes get hit with some unusually chilly weather!
Everyone is bundled up for the season!
During the holiday season especially, we often see guests in the Disney World parks bundled up more than usual, wearing outfits complete with hats, scarves, gloves, and lots of layers. Typically, winter is fairly mild for the Central Florida area, but cold snaps can happen, so theme park guests might look to modify their plans. And in the case of one theme park, you’re likely to see some pretty unpredictable trends.
When you pack for Disney, you probably remember to bring pajamas, your toothbrush, your Minnie ears, your MagicBand+, and other essentials. But did you pack…your gloves?

Florida might be the Sunshine State, but sometimes it can get hit with really cold weather! A freeze warning and freeze watch were even put in place for some areas of Florida over the Christmas weekend. And while things are warming up, some cooler weather will continue for just a bit in Orlando (at least in terms of the lows). If you aren’t prepared for the cooler weather, you might arrive in Florida and be met with a rather unfortunate situation in the parks.
Okay guys, it’s official: Orlando is going to see its first freeze since 2018!
Better to be safe than sorry!
With the arctic blast that’s coming to the East Coast at the end of this week, meteorologists predict Disney World could see temperatures drop to 32 degrees. Fittingly, these icy temps are going to hit right on Christmas Eve!
There’s one thing you can count on when it comes to Disney World weather — expect the unexpected.
Yes, there are hot cocoa days in Disney World.
We’ve done our best to keep you prepared for rainy days, days when the parks are flooding, and hot weather. But one thing you may not be thinking about is cold weather. Now you may think, “DFB, does it REALLY get cold in Disney World?” Well, it might not snow (only SNOAP here), but we will answer that “yes, it DOES get cold in Disney World.”
You can control a LOT of things when it comes to planning a Disney World vacation! Dedicated Disney planners can make dining reservations 60 days in advance, savvy money-savers can look for discounts to apply to their room reservations, and some guests like to control their spending in the parks by using Disney gift cards! But (sadly) we can’t control the weather in Disney World, and last we checked, Disney doesn’t have any plans to build a weather bubble around the parks — darn!
We’re nearing the middle of February already!

Admittedly, it is winter time, so we always expect the temperatures to cool down in January and February, but now it seems Florida is setting records with this cold weather, and we just can’t let it go!
