Walt Disney World and other Disney theme parks around the world have been officially reopened for some time now, but there’s one part of Disney’s travel portfolio that has no signs of reopening: Disney Cruise Line.

And previously, Disney has stated that its cruise line would be the “last [part of the business] to come back for us.”

Disney has accommodated cruise guests by offering cancellation flexibility. The policy gives vacationers the option to modify their cruise up to 15 days prior to their departure date. This temporary policy was originally good between August 31st, 2020 through March 31st, 2021 and has now been extended. [Read more…]
Disney Cruise Line has already announced that European sailings are canceled through October 2nd, 2020, and Canadian sailings are canceled through September 14th, 2020.

And just recently, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy sailings have been canceled through September 15th, 2020.
Yesterday, the Re-Open Florida Task Force, met to discuss some of the concerns and potential solutions for moving the state out of shutdown.

Another meeting occurred today to discuss more specific sectors. With real estate, construction, cruise lines, and airports on the list of items, the team worked to envision what reopening may look like for these industries. Cruises are a notably at-risk model during the global health crisis, so members of the task force stepped forward to expand on their priorities for cruise lines.
