The Japan Pavilion at EPCOT has always been a hidden gem, and right now it’s having a serious moment.

If you haven’t been to World Showcase lately, you might not know that the Japan Pavilion has picked up some really fun offerings that Disney Adults are absolutely running with. From collectible machines to personalized keepsakes, there are a couple of trends taking off that we think are worth knowing about before your next trip. Let’s break it down!

EPCOT’s Japan is filled with yummy cuisine and beautiful scenery, but above all else, it’s known for its incredible merchandise. The Mitsukoshi Department Store gift shop here is the only place you’ll find items themed to Pokémon or based on Nintendo games and characters, and it’s also a great spot to shop for some truly unique snacks. But now, one of the best souvenir options in the Japan Pavilion is actually located outside the gift shop.
I go to Disney World a lot. More than most people. I don’t say this to brag — if anything, I go too much. But when you go to the parks as often as I do, you tend to become a little souvenir blind. What does that mean? Well, I’ve seen new t-shirts come and go. I’ve seen more new ears, park bags, and plush characters than I can count. After a while, it all starts to blur together. I’ve gone numb. You can’t impress me with a basic Spirit Jersey, Disney!

But on my recent visit to EPCOT, something came over me. I splurged on not one, but TWO big souvenirs. And we’re not talking silly little $20 trinkets. I went big. It was a rush. Wanna see what I got?

We are constantly scanning the internet, Disney World parks, and more to find the best merchandise and necessities. Over in EPCOT, we have now found what might be the most unique thing we have ever found in Disney World, and our entire team is obsessed with it!
LOUNGEFLY ALERT! At this point, we think our Loungefly sense is even stronger than Spider-Man’s spidey senses. We can always tell when there’s a NEW bag to be found.

If you’ve been following along with us and all the recent merchandise we’ve found, then you’ve probably heard of the Lug bags. They showed up in the Disney Parks in January and sold out just as quickly — they’re THAT popular! They’re rectangular crossbody bags that allow your phone, wallet, and other park necessities to slide right in. It’s super compact and can slide into the storage compartment of rides with ease, or you can tuck it to the side and leave it on throughout the rides. We’ve seen a Winnie the Pooh collection as well as a Figment collection for EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts. Each of these collections sold out SPEEDY FAST but the Figment collection in particular was very popular, as it sold out TWICE. But… we found it online.
