It’s hard to believe the MLS is Back Tournament is already over!
When news broke back in June Major League Soccer would be restarting at Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex we could hardly believe it!
Two professional sports leagues have made their 2020 season return at Walt Disney World — the NBA and MLS!
Soccer fans have been able to watch some of their favorite teams compete at the EPSN Wide World of Sports in the MLS is Back Tournament! They now have a way to memorialize this historic event with some unique Disney merchandise!
When the domestic theme parks like Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando began to reopen, we’ve shared what it was like to return to a theme park — and to pick up a few clues about what Walt Disney World would be like when it reopens!

As Disney World prepares to reopen to visitors, the NBA and MLS are getting ready to host their seasons and tournaments at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports.
Although Milwaukee Bucks player Robin Lopez has spoken out about the NBA’s stay (in three different resorts on property) at Disney World in the most entertaining way possible, Mayor Jerry Demings is also chiming in about the sports leagues return.
It’s no secret Disney World has REALLY been keeping us on our toes lately!
Not only have there been a ton of new announcements regarding transportation and hotel services for guests once the resorts reopen, but now that MLS and NBA players are headed to Disney World, there’s been a ton of questions over where these pro athletes will be housed!
Disney World is providing a solution for the return of major league sports.
Last week, it was officially determined that the NBA would be resuming its 2020 season at Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex — and they’re not the only ones. Also coming to the complex for a season reboot is Major League Soccer! Today, the league announced some more details and WHEN they’ll be going for the goals again. Take a look!
While we’ve been chatting a lot about the possibility of the NBA finishing out its season in Walt Disney World (and you can read the latest on that developing story here), it also looks as though Major League Soccer will be doing so, according to an article by The Washington Post.
While the article notes that MLS has not issued an official statement, Major League Soccer and the MLS Players Association have reached an agreement to continue the 2020 season. [Read more…]
