Over the decades, the amount of pre-planning that goes into a Disney World trip has increased substantially. Between special events, fluctuating ticket prices based on date, Lightning Lanes, dining reservations, etc., it has become common for guests to lock their trip in months — or even a year — in advance. Sure, we can look at past data to get an estimate of the crowd levels in Disney World, but you never know what may happen from year to year. So how did Disney’s wait times hold up as January marched on? Well, they went UP! For example, waits for Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run in Galaxy’s Edge – which hasn’t even gotten it’s massive Mandalorian & Grogu update yet – DOUBLED this week, with its average wait time almost reaching an hour.

Welcome to 2026, when we bet a lot of folks are starting to go all in on Disney World vacation planning, and why wouldn’t you? Disney just released a SLEW of great deals that are a good motivator to visit the parks in Orlando, after all. We’ll still be visiting almost every day because we just can never get enough of Disney.
