There’s a lot of construction happening around Disney World. The parks are busy adding new lands and expansions, as well as updating rides. But Disney World hotels have also been busy getting some updates.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Recently, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa began to get some updates to its lobby, and construction is well underway for that project. However, Disney has filed a permit suggesting that even more work is coming to the hotel, this time at its entrance.
There’s a MAJOR Disney World construction coming up and it tends to fly under the radar.

We’re so focused on projects inside the parks like the EPCOT France Pavilion expansion or the upcoming Space 220 Restaurant, that we sometimes forget about the projects happening right outside the park gates. Take, for instance, the major World Drive overhaul to help ease traffic outside of Magic Kingdom. We haven’t thought about that one in a while but now, Phase 2 of the project is officially starting!

The entrance and exit to Magic Kingdom are often extremely prone to traffic, so it’s good news that we spotted the acceptance of a permit for significant construction taking place on World Drive/Floridian Way, just outside the exit to Magic Kingdom!
