We’re back at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, today! It’s one of our favorite stops for unique eats and yummo treats in the Magic Kingdom!
But before we jump into our latest review, it is with a heavy heart that I share this news from our beloved Sleepy Hollow: The specialty savory waffle sandwiches — the Sweet and Spicy Chicken and the Ham, Prosciutto and Swiss — are no longer available. Womp, womp.
Still available are the basic waffle options including the Powdered Sugar or Cinnamon as well as the Strawberries with Whipped Cream version. Also still on the menu is the popular Fresh Fruit (AND NUTELLA!!!!!) Waffle Sandwich. So…whew!
But with bad news comes good news…and a review of a fun seasonal item newly added this year!

There’s big news this week regarding chefs at some popular signature dining restaurants throughout Walt Disney World! Chef shakeups at three spots may mean changes at some of your favorites. Read on for all of the details.
Earlier this week, Chef Masaharu Morimoto and Patina Restaurant Group announced that Chef Yuhi Fujinaga had taken on the role of executive chef at Disney Springs’ Morimoto Asia.
Chef Yuhi first met the famous Iron Chef and restaurant mogul early in his career. “I met Chef Morimoto as a young chef in Hawaii, where I grew up. We bonded quickly over our love of fresh fish, big flavors and new cooking techniques,” said Chef Yuhi. [Read more…]

Today we are sharing a pictorial review of the new Victoria and Albert’s Ten Course Tasting Experience from guest photographer, Tom Welsh. Thanks, Tom!Let’s take a closer look at a Chef’s Ten Course Tasting experience at Victoria and Albert’s. This award-winning restaurant at Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort exudes elegance and is helmed by James Beard Award-nominee (again in 2016!) Chef Scott Hunnel.
We took the monorail over to the Grand Floridian Resort for our dinner at Victoria and Albert’s. Viviana and Sharon greeted us at the door with hugs for all. Sharon introduced her associate for the evening, Anita. We also met Elizabeth, the harpist. We selected the Chef’s Ten Course Tasting Menu with the recommended wine pairings. First came a lovely fruit punch with a little vodka.
The Amuse-Bouche was a Cauliflower Panna Cotta with Siberian Caviar and Tattinger Brut “La Francaise.”
The nine courses that followed were: (2) Roulade of Smoked Salmon and Alaskan King Crab with Chateau Rahoul Blanc, Graves 2011.
(3) Alaskan Sablefish with Baby Bok Choy and Lieu Dit Chenin Blanc, Santa Ynez Valley 2013.
(4) Scottish Langoustine with Nage Crema and Hanzell “Sebella” Chardonnay, Sonoma 2013.
(5) Truffled Bell & Evans Chicken with Hedgehogs (mushrooms) and Copain “Les Voisins” Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley 2011.
(6) Berkshire “Porchetta”, Sherry Vinaigrette and Arboldea Carmenere, Colchagua Valley 2009.
(7) Australian Kobe-Style Beef with Comte Potato Gnocchi and Chateau Rauzan-Segla “Segla,” Margaux 2008.
(8) Selection of Cheese from the Trolley with Quinta Do Crasto Late Bottled Vintage Port 2010.
(9) Green Apple Mousse with Sour Cream Ice Cream.
(10) Peruvian Chocolate Crunch.
We each had a pot: coffee for Lyd and tea for me.
Thanks for sharing your meal with us, Tom!

Welcome to Disneyland’s newest Table Service eatery, River Belle Terrace!
Of course, that’s not the whole story… not by a long shot. River Belle Terrace has quite the history in Disneyland, existing under its current name since 1971 (and the location itself operated under other names from the park’s first year). [Read more…]

Are Dining Packages for the Rivers of Light nighttime spectacular coming to Animal Kingdom’s Tusker House Restaurant?
It sure looks like it, if you have an Android device at least. Allow me to explain…
Currently, menus for Advance Dining Reservations for Rivers of Light Dining Packages are appearing on the My Disney Experience app on Android devices, though the meals are not bookable at this time.
(We assume these would operate the same as Dining Packages for Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: guests make a specific package reservation for a restaurant that offers Dining Packages, where the set price for your package meal also reserves those in your dining party seats at a select showing of the event).
Before the iFolks out there begin to worry, I want to stress again that these reservations are currently non-bookable. And, in fact, no official debut date has been announced for the new nighttime spectacular coming to Animal Kingdom. So these Dining Packages are, at this point, still speculation as well. But here are a few screenshots as they are displaying on android devices, so you can check it out…
You’ll notice that choices — at this time — come up as Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner for the first, second, or third viewing of the evening (which supports rumors that up to three showings of the spectacular per evening are possible). [Read more…]
