Joyeux Noël! We have a tasty returning treat from L’Artisan des Glaces to share with you today!
Festival of the Holidays is in full swing in Epcot so let’s jump right in and chat about what you can find in the France Pavilion!
Bonjour Mademoiselles and Monsieurs! We spotted some new packaging on one of our favorite French treats in Epcot today!
Over in the France Pavilion, Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie consistently serves up some of our favorite freshly baked pastries and French nibbles (We’re looking at you, frangipane!). Now, we have another thing to love — they’ve repackaged their delicious macarons in a more environmentally friendly (and portable!) way!!
The newest Refillable Popcorn Bucket that we just spotted TODAY in Magic Kingdom may be the cutest one yet! Of course, we at the DFB may be a little partial, because this one features a TON of iconic Disney snacks!
Where to begin?!? How about with our favorite Mouse, who’s holding balloons formed like… well, just like him 🙂 , only in their food versions of a Mickey Ice Cream Bar and a Mickey Soft Pretzel! [Read more…]
When the Happily Ever After fireworks show in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World replaced Wishes just over a year ago, the responses were all over the map. Some were deeply saddened; others were ready for a change. But one thing was for sure: there would be fireworks.
Lots and lots of fireworks. 😉
Super excited to share some breaking news with you about Pixar Pier in Disneyland Resort’s Disney California Adventure park. (Don’t forget that Pixar Pier officially opens on June 23rd!)
We’ve got the scoop on some brand new eats for Pixar Fest as well as some upcoming Pixar Pier dining locations that will be permanent residents of the new Pixar Pier! Ready? Here we go!! (Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this post to see the new Pixar Pier dining spots!)
It’s here! I can hardly believe it, but the 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival is finally underway!
The fun officially kicked off on September 14 and runs until November 14. That’s more than eight weeks of savoring all that this special event has to offer! And we had so much fun eating and drinking along the Promenade to discover our Best of the Fest dishes and drinks to recommend!
But of course, you can’t forget the tons of events that take place during the Festival. From Low Cost Events like Culinary Demonstrations and Beverage Seminars to high end Special Events like Party for the Senses, there’s so much to do at every turn. But here’s the catch — nearly all of it comes with a pricetag.
So that, of course, begs the question: how in the World do you plan for the Food Lover Trip of the Year?
We get it! So we’re here for you with some great tips for Budgeting for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. And if you like what you see, be sure to check out our 2016 DFB Guide to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, completely updated with everything you can expect to enjoy at this year’s event!
Well, the answer to that is…it totally depends! [Read more…]
We have been waiting patiently since we first heard the announcement, and the day has finally arrived. The doors to Amorette’s Patisserie have officially opened!
The brand new, upscale bakery joins other boutique sweets spots, like Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC, The Ganachery, and Vivoli Gelateria, at Disney Springs this week. The work on the newly re-imagined shopping and dining district is just about complete, and it’s pretty amazing.
But along with other carts and shops, Amorette’s Patisserie has been on our short list of places to anticipate! Let’s head in and take a look around.
Step into the newly opened Town Center at Disney Springs and you’ll soon locate Amorette’s Patisserie. The Disney-created back story is charming: artistic sisters Kara and Sara are the current owners of the shop, which has been passed down through many generations of their family. The shop dates back to the earliest days of Disney Springs, around 1900.
But the sisters are as interested in artistic expression via beautiful and delicious pastries as they are in other forms of art. And so you see evidence of their handiwork throughout the shop. We’ll get to some sweet examples in a minute, but first, let’s look around a bit. [Read more…]
When I first heard about the tea offering, I knew I wanted to try it out. Steakhouse 55 has always been one of my favorite Disneyland Resort restaurants. I especially love the atmosphere here, so I was really excited to have a new Steakhouse 55 experience. Breakfast at Steakhouse 55 is what I believe to be one of the very best breakfasts on property. Dinner is wonderful too, so I was sure afternoon tea would be a delight as well!
I tried to book immediately, but it was full almost a month out! So, I booked my month out and waited patiently. Checking in for tea is the same process as a meal. Just head on up to the podium and you will be escorted back to the dining room.
When the time came, I was joined by my best pal. We took the first reservation of the day, which was at noon, and when we got there it was basically empty. By the time we left, there was not one open table! [Read more…]
We had the opportunity to attend the Tables in Wonderland Flower and Garden Festival Preview Event on Friday!
And we’re excited to share with you all of the news — and photos! — detailing some of the delicious dishes and wonderful drinks that you can expect at the 2016 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, running from March 2-May 30, 2016!
But, super quick, before we get to the food, we HAD to show you a sneak peek at the festival itself! Crews are busy at working, preparing all of the exhibits.
We also had a first look at the brand new Music Garden Melodies Playground! OK, it doesn’t look like much right now, but kiddos are gonna LOVE this! [Read more…]
So, remember last fall, when we scoped out the Macaron-themed merchandise in Epcot’s France Pavilion? Well, there are some new macaron souvenirs dedicated to this classic French cookie. So, if you’re not able to pop into Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie or enjoy the latest macaron filled with house made ice cream at L’artisan des Glaces, these finds will still help you proclaim your love for these colorful and tasty treats!
Simultaneously celebrating macarons and Epcot’s World Showcase (specifically the France Pavilion), as well as the Main Mouse, this line differs from the previous by featuring more animated graphics in pastels.
Another difference is the location. The previous collection had a display in the merchandise area connected to Les Halles. The new collection can be found at L’Esprit de la Provence shop, just to the right as you enter the back of the pavilion.
The girls and women’s shirts feature a simple “I Love Paris” sentiment.
“Bon appétit!” is the phrase that graces the apron, keychain, coasters, and [Read more…]
