Each year Disney tends to raise prices on tickets, parking, and Annual Passes. And with so many upcoming experiences like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Space 220, TRON Lightcycle Run, and more, it comes with no shock that we are seeing price increases on Disney World Annual Passes!

Are you a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder? If so, what are your thoughts?
James Fair says
Lucky we bought our Gold annuals yesterday at lower price!
Tyler says
I don’t understand why they continue to only attack out of state pass holder prices.
Lois Pierce says
Glad we’ve already got our park tickets for September! Hope food prices don’t go up too much before then.
Scott says
Tyler, You should look into Sam’s Club. I understand they sell out of state Annual Passes at a discounted price.
Jacqueline says
I think the increase in food and merchandise bothers me more than us all getting pass increases.
Also the measly 10% food discount off of select restaurants at select times. They are cutting corners everywhere with their guests and it shows.
Jack says
You are pricing retired people out of the market
Brandon says
What is with Disney??!!
1) why can’t they warn us like they used to?
2) Why can’t they stick to a schedule?
This basically means that they hiked the price 2 times in an 8 month period.
Absolute garbage.
Amanda says
Does anyone else realize that they are doing price increases all over the parks and on tickets at basically the same time just as they have had to shut down Disneyland Hong Kong and Disneyland Shanghai due to the Coronavirus. They are losing over 145 million dollars due to those closures. They have to recoup the money somewhere and they are doing it through all of us here.
Michelle D says
I’m glad for the increases. It will save me a LOT of money.. I was trying to decide if I really wanted to keep my pass. I decided against it with the increase. Just cancelled two trips, totaling more than $5000 in savings.
Roger says
The luster of Disney is starting to wear thin , the better be careful with prices all I am saying .
Lisa R says
I don’t understand why they don’t raise the in state prices? Clearly locals go more than out of state. I’d be thrilled to get two trips in a year but it’d be almost 5k for my family of four. Ridiculous for 15 days at the most!
Marjorie Craig says
I can’t believe that Disney would take advantage of people like that! They are totally making it so families can’t go because of prices. It’s so sad. I know Walt would not have done that to families.
Don says
Disney just took out a little bit of magic today with the price increases
Helen Retjos says
How high is enough. I was passholder for many years but your prices have just to high for me and a lot of other Floridians. You make so much hate money in a Year, why does everything go keep going up? ?
I would love to be as passholer again UT not as those prices. I live on SS and $1,000.00 Just to get in is absurd. Guess I will be going to Universal or Seaworld from now on.
Kathy says
Not surprised with the greed!
Arlene says
My A/P expires in May of this year and I won’t be renewing it. Disney is getting too greedy. Their prices are so high right now that the average family cannot afford to go there anymore and especially if you have to pay airfare to get to Florida! I agree with previous readers, thank you Disney, we will save a lot of money next year because we will not be going to Disney World. It’s time to explore other vacation destinations that don’t try to extort you and squeeze the last dime out of your pocket..
mike says
I agree with the sentiment on this blog. Price increases are too much too fast. This will decrease visitation and hurt the brand long term. Looks like Disney is trying to recoup current renovation and expansion costs in one full swoop. Bad move.
Sherry Sapp says
I really wonder if pricing the average family OUT of a trip to Disney was what Walt Disney envisioned for the future of his dream. Somehow, I imagine, he would be livid.
Tom Muscatello says
Agree with all the other statements. You can go if you are in the upper middle class and above. The other 80% of the working class is out of luck.
This is not what Walt Disney envisioned. This is a happy place for all , not just thos who have lots of discretionary dollars.
Brandon says
Those closest to Disney keep saying it’s to alleviate crowds.
Honestly I don’t think it has ANYTHING to do with crowds. If that were the case they would not be running all of these Free Dining specials and discounted room rates year round.
They are trying to pack in as many people as possible all the time.
I personally think they want to discourage Out of State people from buying the AP’s. They loose money on AP’s. Which is why the FL Resident Platinum prices did not go up.
I GUARANTEE there will be another Annual Pass/ticket price increase before the end of 2020.
I know that prices will continue to rise.
But I think Disney is turning so many people off because
1. the frequency with which they are raising the prices. It’s No longer annually or on a set time of year. It’s just whenever they feel like it. It could be a year or it could be 8 months. It could be next week.
2. There is no notice given. We just wake up one morning and they’ve hiked the prices.
3. The amount of the price hike is absolutely ridiculous. In past years it’s gone up $50 here or there. But last year it was hiked $225. And this year it was hiked $76.

I was going through some memorabilia in preparation for our move from Tennessee to Florida a couple of years back and came across an old Disney World ticket book from the mid 70’s. It had B, C, D, and E tickets still in it. All the A (premium attraction) tickets were gone.
Of course at the time there was only the Magic Kingdom in WDW. The price of $15.00 (for an adult ticket book) included the following:
– WDW transportation for two days
– Magic Kingdom admission for two days
– Tickets for 16 Magic Kingdom attractions
– One special adventure coupon good for admission and transportation to Bay Lake’s Treasure Island
And of course the crowds were almost non-existent 45 years ago compared to the daily pandemonium in the parks nowadays. You can blame the government’s deregulation of the airlines and the subsequent bargain basement airline ticket prices for the glut of people who can now afford to fly from all over the world to pack DW to overflowing most every day of the year. I remember almost no lines back in the 70’s with only the Magic Kingdom in existence. FastPass hadn’t even been thought of yet. There was no need for it due to the normal very short lines. Those were the days, my friend…
