It’s the holidays, and that means it’s peppermint season — and we’ve tasted SO MANY peppermint treats already this year!
From peppermint cupcakes to peppermint churros to a candy cane martini, we’ve had our share of minty treats!
But we’re not done yet, because when we found out that Peppermint Soft-Serve Ice Cream had returned to Disney World, we were right there to get ourselves a cone! Last year, the Peppermint Soft-Serve looked like this: green ice cream with pieces of peppermint candy sprinkled all over it.
And the photo on the menu shows the same.
But the soft serve we got this year looks a lot different. First, it’s served upside down in a bowl. A Cast Member explained they do this due to health and safety guidelines because they can’t directly hand cones to guests right now.
However, they place it in the bowl carefully, so that it’s easy to just pull the cone out of the bowl and start eating. But did you spot another difference from last year’s treat? The colors! This year’s treat is a swirl of green and red ice cream with peppermint bits!
We think it’s a lot prettier this year – we love the holiday colors in the swirls! It’s also still very tasty — the peppermint flavor isn’t too overpowering (although we wouldn’t turn down this flavor swirled with some chocolate). This is a light and refreshing snack that still has a festive holiday feel to it.
Although it looks a lot different from last year, it’s still available at the same place — at the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck at Animal Kingdom. A cone is $4.99.
We’re keeping an eye out for all the holiday treats at Disney World, so stay tuned to find out what we discover next!
