PHOTOS: TRON’s Illuminated Canopy Continues to Take Shape in Disney World!

There are lots of new attractions and areas being worked on right now all throughout the Disney theme parks, including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and TRON Lightcycle Run.

In September, Imagineers reached a major milestone in the TRON construction with the installation of the first piece of the incredibly canopy that will surround part of the attraction’s outside route. As we passed by the attraction today, we could see that even more of this stunning canopy is going up and we couldn’t be more excited!!

Here’s a look at what the TRON attraction looks like right now.

The construction cranes are out and moving pieces into place for the construction of this attraction.

You get a bit better idea of the canopy’s shape by looking at that sort-of criss-cross, curving pattern of white poles in the back.

You can also see some of those white canopy pieces in the front, waiting to be installed, and you can see that most of the paneling is already up on the show building that will house the indoor portion of the ride, although work does appear to be continuing there.

Here’s a look at what the incredible canopy looks like over in Shanghai Disneyland’s version of the attraction, which gives us an idea of what it will possibly look like in Disney World.

We cannot wait to ride this attraction once it’s complete and see how that illuminated canopy will add some light, color, and a sense of movement to Tomorrowland and Magic Kingdom in general.

Right now, the attraction is set to open in 2021. We’ll continue to keep an eye on the construction and provide you with more updates!
