The Rivers of America and the surrounding area has been under a lengthy refurbishment!
The river was completely drained and construction work was happening on the guide rails for the Liberty Square Riverboat. We also saw work being done on Tom Sawyer Island and the dry riverbed. The river has recently been refilled and we were expecting the attractions to reopen on March 1st, 2021. It seems Disney is a little ahead of schedule and they may open a little early!
The Disney World website is noting hours for the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island for this Friday, February 5th. The refurbishment calendar has also removed both attractions from the list of closed attractions starting on Friday.
All signs are pointing towards the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island reopening on Friday. The boat will most likely start taking guests on rides around the island from 9:30AM – 7:00PM this weekend. Now, if we could only get the PeopleMover to speed things along too.
Check out everything closed for refurbishment this week in Disney World!
