We’ve got an update on some mysterious construction in Disney World!
You might remember when we spotted that Cinderella Castle had some serious construction going on last week with much of the castle stage covered in scrim and temporary foliage. We thought the stage might be getting some routine maintenance but now there’s been a BIG development.
To jog your memory, this is what the castle stage looked like the last time we checked.
Today, the black covering had been removed to reveal that the surface layer of the stage has been removed!
You can see the slats that support the stage are all that remain at this time with plywood over another part of the area.
We’re not sure what this means but it’s possible the stage is getting an update and/or touch-ups ahead of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary this year (the castle will also be getting a fun 50th-anniversary overlay — which you can see here). We will certainly be keeping an eye on it!
