Fireworks are finally returning to the Disney Parks!
We’ve already given you a look at the return of fireworks in both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT at Disney World, and now it’s time for Disneyland to light up the nighttime sky! Although we saw the first test run on June 30th, we’re bringing you along with us for the first official fireworks show in the park in over a year!
As of July 4th, Mickey’s Mix Magic has returned to the Sleeping Beauty Castle and, of course, we had to be part of the first crowd to see it! We decided to check out the crowds near an hour before the show started — there were A LOT of people gathering in front of the castle!

It’s a bit crowded
Disneyland recently updated its health and safety measures, changing its face mask policy to allow all guests to remove face masks when outdoors (though guests who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear them indoors) and we noticed that social distancing was no longer required while watching fireworks.

Crowds
And, then it was showtime! Mickey’s Mix Magic is officially back in Disneyland!

Mickey’s Mix Magic
Needless to say, it was SO good to see fireworks back in Disneyland (we’re not crying, you’re crying).

Fireworks are back!!
Just like we saw in Disney World, it is incredible busy trying to leave the park after fireworks. Here’s a look at Disneyland right after the show.

Leaving the park
One thing to note is that Mickey’s Mix Magic webpage currently indicates that “fireworks occur on select nights only,” so you’ll want to be sure that you check the entertainment calendar before you plan your day around the nighttime show. Of course, we will continue to keep an eye out for more updates on the return of fireworks to the parks and more, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
