We saw some BIG news today about the new Star Wars hotel coming to Disney World next year!
We know that the Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser hotel will be a fully immersive experience where guests can be part of the story in a galaxy far, far away! As part of that adventure, guests will travel down to Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Today, we learned more details about how the theme park will tie into the experience!
We’ve heard before that part of the experience of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel is a “planet-side excursion to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu.” That means guests will be visiting Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios during their two-day stay at the Galactic Starcruiser!
According to some Imagineers who worked on this project, guests will board a transport sent by the Black Spire Outpost to get them from the hotel to Galaxy’s Edge.
Once there, guests can go on rides and attractions, including Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run!
These will be more than just rides, though, as the Imagineers shared that they will play into the larger story that guests are part of. For example, guests will learn more of the back story to the smuggling going on at Smuggler’s Run including information on who the buyer is for the coaxium that you’re stealing on the ride!
Later on, guests can even continue the story by delivering the coaxium! It becomes part of the larger plot as guests interact with the rides and the Cast Members inside Galaxy’s Edge.
Guests can have different experiences in the park, depending on what their chosen role is on the Galactic Starcruiser. According to the Imagineers, “You might be investigating that deal [the smuggling] on behalf of the First Order or you might be the person delivering the coordinates to Hondo to know where to go to get the coaxium.”
Cast Members at Batuu could play a role as well, with guests interacting with them to learn more information and complete their missions! There will be allies to find, and Imagineers mentioned scavenger hunts happening in Galaxy’s Edge as part of that experience as well. Imagineers said that the stories happening on the Galactic Starcruiser were “designed to intersect with the stories going on at Galaxy’s Edge when both were in development at the same time.”
Galaxy’s Edge will be a stop for guests onboard the Galactic Starcruiser to continue their stories, or they can choose to be a tourist for the day and relax, hang out, and check out the sites! It’s up to the guests to choose how they want to be part of the story! Keep following DFB, because we’re sharing a TON of new info about the new Star Wars hotel today!

This sounds very complicated to me. Especially for younger guests. I wonder if there are age or height limits to stay at this new on land Star Wars immersion cruise ?
We aren’t Star Wars fans, but I have to admit what I’ve seen/heard so far is pretty amazing. The cost must be phenomenal though…
