Disney World recently introduced a brand new Annual Passholder Program and made quite a few changes.
There are now less pass options than there were previously, some add-on features that used to be included in certain passes, and new price points. The program also got a whole new look, which has already been seen on passes and throughout the parks. And now, there are a few NEW perks coming for Annual Passholders!
The first new perk is called The Passholder Buzz, coming in late October. It’s a new mobile hub just for Passholders located in the My Disney Experience app. The Passholder Buzz will put the magic of Disney World at your fingertips with exclusive videos, articles, and more, according to Disney.
Disney says you will be able to dive deeper into Walt Disney World attractions, EPCOT festivals, and other experiences through interviews, behind-the-scenes trivia, recipes, and event information. And, Passholders can keep up with Passholder offers, events, and other surprises coming throughout Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration.
Something else Disney is doing for Annual Passholders is introducing new special touches to say “welcome back.” They will receive special recognition at theme park entrances and through My Disney Experience!
At theme park entrances, Annual Passholders have their own entry lane at all of the Disney World theme parks. The signage features the Passholder Program’s new look. And, coming this month, Passholders who have connected their My Disney Experience account with their Annual Pass will get a unique color and sound sequence when using their MagicBands to enter the parks!
Also on My Disney Experience, Annual Passholders will see a new badge on their homescreen.
And finally, Disney is introducing a new Disney MagicMobile design featuring Mickey Mouse exclusive to Passholders! You can use MagicMobile through My Disney Experience to access MagicBand features through your mobile devices.
Those are the new perks and features coming for Annual Passholders at Disney World! Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney News coverage.

Purchased annual passes (I believe Silver) in 2018 and have yet to activate. We have til 2031 to do so. Was considering calling to try to get a refund. Not sure if should just hold on to them or not. ?? Plus we moved a few hours away recently and not sure when we’ll get there next. The struggle.
Goofy, If I were you, I’d keep them. THe new pases won’t give you photo pass, and that is a $100 extra cost.
Personally, I’m glad there will be AP entrances, but I was really hoping to hear they followed Uni and decided to give higher(highest?) level APs a free Genie+ (especially since that was the case for DL APs on the highest level with Max Pass).
After reading this article, all I see is fluff and direction to utilize smartphone more. I would have preferred if Disney/AP had spent their budget on keeping the valuable perks they eliminated such as photopass. For newbies, some of this maybe helpful. Always appreciate special entrance for AP holders as the line seems to move faster.
We loved that we could add our annual passes to our Apple wallet and then just use our Apple watches for entry to the parks. With that and the digital key on the iPhone we didn’t use our magic bands at all.
Why buy disney annual passes when you have no intention on using them?
And I would trade all of it to have the photo pass back.
Passholders always had a separate entrance to all the parks before. The new rates and taking away perks isn worth it.
I really don’t see what the new perks are for us. Adding a new square to MDE for me to click on to read info is boring and not anything I can’t find out through a YouTube channel. Up our discounts on F&B. Especially since they still haven’t brought back Tables in Wonderland. All of the dining is pretty much back but we can’t purchase the discount cards. Makes no sense. Changing their PH sign is hardly exciting too. Especially since they took so much away from us and charged us more.
The whole program is a far cry from the old program. Disney value is dropping like a rock.
We have tried the Passholder entrance gates before and they have been slower and more frustrating than the other gates for some reason. However, I would like to see a Passholder Lane at the toll plazas. I would think that would speed up our drive through and be a nice perk.
