We’ve shared updates about the food you’ll find on the ship, the entertainment that will be available, and more. But, just what stage is the ship in right now? Recently, Disney shared a big construction update!
In the past, we’ve seen construction on the hull and bridge of the ship, which changed the Disney Wish from a rectangular box to something more boat-like.
In their latest status update, Disney shared that all of the blocks of the Disney Wish have been brought together in the last few months at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany! Back in July, the forward red funnel was added to the ship.
Then, in August, the final major block was added. Disney has shared that the ship’s exterior is nearly complete from a construction point of view!
Finally, the stern filigree has also been completed! Disney has shared that this is a preview of what’s to come for the bow filigree.
We’re very excited to see the Disney Wish when it sets sail in the Summer of 2022! It will be home to Disney World’s first-ever attraction at sea, the Aquamouse! The water coaster will feature two exclusive Mickey Mouse cartoons called “Scuba Scramble” and “Swiss Meltdown”, which you’ll only be able to find aboard the Disney Wish.
The ship will also feature a plethora of exciting dining and lounge experiences, including ones themed to Frozen, Star Wars, and Marvel, as well as a classy fine dining experience based on Walt Disney himself.
Plus, guests will get to enjoy several Broadway-style shows, including Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and an all-new original show starring Captain Minnie Mouse!
If you want an in-person preview of the new ship, be sure to stop by Walt Disney Presents in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there’s a big display inside that talks about all of the things coming to the ship.
We’re on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned here for more!
