Welcome to the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts!

EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

It feels like we were just filling our bellies with all of the tasty food and drink items from the Festival of the Holidays, but it’s a new year and that means it’s already time for the most colorful, the most creative, and perhaps most unique of the four EPCOT festivals.

We’ll be updating this post ALL DAY as we explore everything there is to see from the fest. Stay tuned, so you don’t miss a beat!

Festival Dates

This year, the Festival of the Arts will take place from January 14th through February 21st! That doesn’t give you as much time as you typically see at those mega-long festivals (EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival and EPCOT Food and Wine Festival run for MONTHS!).

 

But we are thrilled to be here and let our creative juices flow while we make the most of the brief few weeks we have with this festival. Let’s jump right in and get this pARTy stARTed (we’re like, totally tapping into our inner artist here).

Getting Started and Crowds

This morning around TWO HOURS before the festival booths opened, lines were already forming for the first day of the festival.

 

When it was time to head in, we were greeted with a Figment-inspired Annual Passholder entrance sequence.

 

The largest lines we saw early in the day were for the Figment Popcorn Bucket coming to Pop Eats!

 

The line wrapped a loooooooooooong way through the front side of EPCOT.

But the festival is pretty busy in general too!

 

Italy had one of the biggest lines today!

We waited in some LONG booth lines today.

Like the other EPCOT festivals, we grabbed our park map along with our Festival of the Arts Passport.

As you can imagine, the Festival of the Arts is one COLORFUL spectacle around EPCOT.

Everywhere you look you’ll find signage and decorations that let you know the festival is in town.

Not to mention, this is a great opportunity for all you Figment fans out there to shout from the rooftops — this little purple dragon is everywhere!

Chalk Art

Around World Showcase, you’ll be able to spot a bunch of different Disney characters! Check out this Luca chalk art in the Italy pavilion!

Art

EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts is the place to be if you love collecting epic Disney artwork. We found a $7,000 (!!!) Jessica Rabbit-inspired piece!

This is one of the coolest things we’ve ever seen!

Spaceship Earth

Imagineer Zach Riddley took to Instagram to show us what Spaceship Earth would look like at night during Festival of the Arts! According to Riddley, “Spaceship Earth will debut a brand-new light show that will feature our color and rainbow motifs seen throughout the festival imagery.”

That’s not all! The light show will be accompanied by The Muppets’ Rainbow Connection!

This is not what we expected today, but we will never turn down a good ole’ light show with the Muppets!

Festival Merchandise

Of course, one of the big draws to any EPCOT festival is the special edition merchandise! First thing this morning, we spotted a fancy new Festival of the Arts Figment MagicBand for Passholders.

 

The festival has some limited-release pins as well to help commemorate the occasion!

 

And Spirit Jersey fans might be pretty excited to see this cozy number.

 

The design reminds us to “Make a masterpiece today!”

Culinary Arts

Pop Eats

As you can probably tell from the lines above, the star souvenir of this festival is the Figment Popcorn Bucket. Look how cute he is!

 

Did we take our Figment on a tour of EPCOT? Yes, yes we did.

 

Near the end of the day, the line was still 2 hours long for this popcorn bucket!

He comes filled with a fun rainbow popcorn and you can find him at Pop Eats.

In fact, this little guy is so popular that he’s already selling for HUNDREDS online.

But the Figment Popcorn Bucket isn’t the only exciting thing at Pop Eats. This spot also has some GREAT food and drinks!

 

We’re getting artsy with this Pop’t Art.

The Craftsman’s Courtyard

NEW BOOTH ALERT! Check out the eats we snagged from The Craftsman’s Courtyard and get ready for seafood!

 

We’re talkin’ Cast Iron-seared Steelhead Trout…

 

…Cast Iron-roaster P.E.I. Mussels…

 

…and this Pate de Campagne!

 

These eats felt like real fine dining.

Donut Box

Donut Box near Test Track has some AMAZING treats. Dare we say this could be a must-stop for donut fans?

 

This spot also has a coffee cocktail that wowed us too.

Our favorite eat here was the Vanilla Donut. Just look at that plate!

 

But the Chocolate-dipped Donut looks pretty darn glitzy too.

Deco Delights

We’ve got another new booth with Deco Delights and this one is all about MOUSSE.

 

Check out the Dulce Chocolate Mousse!

 

Or you might want the Decadent Valrhona Chocolate.

 

We have to say these treats are pretty Instagrammable too.

El Artista Hambriento (The Hungry Artist)

We were OBSESSED with the new eats AND drinks at El Artista Hambriento.

 

Did you know this spot has a margarita by model Lily Aldridge?

The Painted Panda — China

The China Pavilion booth, The Painted Panda, had just two food items.

 

But both of them were pretty tasty. You can also snag a cocktail like the Eastern Dynasty.

L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise – France 

L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise has a VERY unique dish with this Chilled Lobster Bisque Mousse.

 

We actually did like this eat but it’s certainly unique and NOT for picky eaters.

Pastoral Palate

Germany’s Pastoral Palate Booth had some interesting eats like this hearty Wild Boar Cassoulet.

Vibrante & Vívido

Now it’s time for the Encanto booth at this year’s festival! If you’ve been obsessed with the movie lately like us, you’ve got to check out the colorful eats at this booth.

Spicy Ajaco Soup is on the menu here…

…as well as the House-made Chorizo and Potato Empanada.

AND take a look at the gorgeous Passion Fruit Mousse!

This is such a fun booth!

STOP talking about Bruno and START talking about this Festival of the Arts booth!

The Deconstructed Dish

You’ll find a new take on some of your favorite dishes with deconstructed versions of French Onion Soup, Key Lime Pie, and Apple Pie a la Mode!

We gotta say, it was pretty strange when we had to drink our apple pie… .

Additional Locations

There are a few additional locations like Refreshment Port where you can find special fest poutine!

 

And, this poutine has GNOCCHI on it. Plus, we were big fans of the Blood Orange Cosmo.

 

It was SUPER refreshing.

Did someone say Dole Whip? Refreshment Outpost is serving up Dole Whip pineapple and cherry swirl!

 

And this spot has a Plant-based Bratwurst and some cool beers too!

The Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine

If you want to earn a prize at EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts, you can participate in the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine! It involves picking up 5 dishes from 5 different booths around the festival. Once you get a stamp for each item, you can pick up your prize from Deco Delights.

We got a Mixed Berry Smoothie AND a Painter’s Palette Cookie for completing the walk today!
