“Hakuna Matata…what a wonderful phrase! Hakuna Matata, ain’t no passing craze…”
Now that we’ve got you humming along to a song that’ll inevitably be stuck in your head for the rest of the day (sorry about that), we’ve got some big news! We were very excited when the revamped Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King returned to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but we recently noticed that showtimes for the popular show had been reduced. But now things have changed! Here’s what you need to know if you’re looking to catch this popular show.
In addition to its usual daily showtimes of 10AM, 11AM, 12PM, 2PM, 3PM, 4PM and 5PM, you can also now catch the show at 1PM! That’s 8 chances to see one of the best shows at Disney World (or just watch it multiple times on the same day if you’re really serious). That makes things a tiny bit easier, since now there will be another potential showtime at which you can potentially get a seat. We’ve recently seen this change reflected on some time boards outside the show and now have seen it reflected on the online schedule too.
As this show is pretty popular, you’ll want to check on that line situation and consider hopping in line with enough time to get yourself a good seat. Or you can skip the lines and use the Lightning Lane at the show by purchasing Disney Genie+. Although the show is still modified from its pre-pandemic version, it’s still a “must-see” at Disney World.
Of course, keep in mind that showtimes are subject to change. Be sure to check on the My Disney Experience app or in front of the theater during your trip to see what that day’s showtimes will be.
We’ll let you know about other news about the rest of the shows at Disney World, including the upcoming return of Animal Kingdom’s reimagined version of the Finding Nemo musical, as soon as we get more details, so stay tuned!
