We’ve got a major piece of advice for anyone planning a trip to Disney World, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Disney parks veteran.
Our advice is to keep an eye on Disney World’s calendars — not just for park hours, but also for entertainment options that have scheduled showtimes because those showtimes can change. Case in point — one popular show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is switching up its schedule SOON.
That show is the very popular Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King, and according to the Disney World calendar, showtimes will change as of April 25th, 2022.
Instead of 8 daily shows, there will be 7 daily shows on most days, starting on April 25th. Recently, showtimes have been at 10AM, 11AM, 12PM, 1PM, 2PM, 3PM, 4PM, and 5PM. However, beginning on that day, the 1PM showtime will not be available on weekdays and Sundays.
It looks like Saturdays will continue to have 8 shows per day, including the 1PM showtime. This change is, more than likely, only temporary. Disney often switches up the number of shows based on how crowded the parks are. We’ve seen showtimes cut AND we’ve seen more added. But there are still plenty of chances to catch the show, and like we said — be sure to check the showtimes on the Disney World website or My Disney Experience app before your trip!
And don’t forget that this summer the Tumble Monkeys will be returning to the show! If you’ve missed these monkeys as much as we have, you might want to start planning your visit to see their return. We’ll let you know when we get an exact date for their return to the show.
