Disney World recently closed down its parks and some hotels due to the threat of Tropical Storm Nicole. Since the storm has passed, the parks and all hotels have reopened — so what’s still CLOSED?
Rides, attractions, and restaurants sometimes close temporarily in Disney World so that they can undergo refurbishments and updates. We’ve got a full list of what’s temporarily closed at the parks and hotels so that you’re aware of the changes before your upcoming vacation.
But before we get to the closures, do you already have your bags packed for your trip? If you’re going to visit Disney World soon, you’ll need the perfect outfit to wear into the parks! We’ve got a lot of great tees and sweatshirts (including some holiday designs!) at our online DFB store — Click here to check out our whole merch line.
Now that you’re ready with the perfect Disney ‘fits, check out our full list of what’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World this week.
Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Railroad
One of the most classic rides in Disney World is closed right now: the Walt Disney World Railroad. This attraction has been closed for years now, and Disney still hasn’t announced a reopening date.
There have, however, been a few clues that it could reopen soon (like a video showing the trains being tested!). So we’re hoping to hear a reopening date any day now!
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
The Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop is the one at the exit of Space Mountain. Usually you’ll exit through this store, but for now, guests are being directed to exit the ride a different way.
Disney hasn’t announced an official reopening date for this shop, but it disappears from the refurbishments calendar on December 11th. That could be when the shop is expected to reopen, so we’ll be watching for any updates.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Enchanted Tales with Belle, located in Fantasyland, is still closed. It’s been unavailable for a while now, and Disney hasn’t announced when it might return.
This is a character meet-and-greet attraction where guests can help Belle tell the story of Beauty and the Beast — although the full experience hasn’t returned yet, you can sometimes still spot Belle meeting guests near this location!
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
Pete’s Silly Sideshow is home to Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy, who greet guests in their circus performer outfits at this location.
Although the Silly Sideshow is still closed for now, Disney has announced that it’ll reopen sometimes “in the coming months.”
Meet Ariel at Her Grotto
One more Disney princess is missing from Magic Kingdom: Ariel’s Grotto is still closed. This character meet-and-greet (home of the Little Mermaid) has been closed for a long time now.
We’ll be watching for more updates about its return, but Disney hasn’t given any indication of when it might reopen.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show is still missing from Hollywood Studios, and it’s starting to look like this show may not return at all.
Disney hasn’t provided any update about the show’s reopening, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any announcements.

EPCOT
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360 should return to EPCOT soon! The film has been put on pause as the theater is being used to house the Appleseed Orchard festival booth for the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival.
We’re expecting the film to resume playing after the festival ends on November 19th.
American Adventure Show
If you head around World Showcase, you’ll find another closed show: the American Adventure show. Although Disney hasn’t confirmed when the show will reopen, it disappears from the refurbishments calendar on December 17th, so that could be the reopening date.
According to a Cast Member in this pavilion, the closure is for some routine refurbishments on the animatronics.
Cool Wash
Cool Wash is a little kiosk near Test Track that’s served a few different purposes in the past. Now, it seems to be in the midst of another remodel. We recently spotted a new name on the sign that said “Refreshment Station.”
When we checked back later, the sign had been covered up by a tarp. We’ll be watching for more news about this little stand!

Disney World Hotels
Narcoossee’s — Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
Narcoossee’s is an upscale seafood restaurant at the Grand Floridian, and it’s been closed for several months now.
This restaurant will reopen sometime in 2023 with an “enhanced dining experience.”

Disney World Water Parks
Typhoon Lagoon
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park has been closed for all of 2022, but it’s finally open again now! Disney World’s other water park — Typhoon Lagoon — has now closed for its own set of refurbishments.
Disney hasn’t announced yet when Typhoon Lagoon might reopen.
