While Disney World and Disneyland have dropped COVID-19 restrictions, other Disney Parks around the world are still being affected by COVID-19.
Shanghai Disney Resort has undergone multiple closures throughout the last few months due to COVID-19, with only select areas of the resort undergoing a phased reopening. Now we have more news about Shanghai Disneyland!
Shanghai Disneyland will reopen on December 8th, 2022, from 8:30AM to 2PM! Note that due to pandemic control measures, certain areas of the park may be closed or operating at reduced capacity.
The Shanghai Disneyland website notes that “Shanghai Disney Resort including Shanghai Disneyland is operating normally. However, we may operate with a reduced workforce and reduced offerings on a temporary basis during this period. As a result, live entertainment, including Disney Winter Magic Cavalcade, Mickey’s Storybook Express and ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime Celebration, as well as select attractions, restaurants and retail locations may not be available or may operate at reduced capacity. Please refer to our official app for the latest operational information. The resort’s pandemic control measures will be updated in accordance with the latest local government guidelines and guests should check and strictly follow them.”
Guests who have tickets to visit on or from November 29th, 2022 can visit Shanghai Disneyland on any day within the next six months, and reservations are not required. If you can’t visit the park within the next six months, you can get a refund for your tickets. The two Shanghai Disney hotels will continue to operate normally.
All guests must present a green Shanghai Health QR Code by scanning the Venue Code in various locations around Shanghai Disney, and guests are strongly recommended to use the Suishenban, Weixin/WeChat, or AliPay apps. Hotel guests must present a green code whenever entering the hotel, and you must also complete the Health Declaration Form during check-in.
If you would prefer to get a refund on your tickets and/or your hotel reservations, you can submit a request through the Shanghai Disneyland app, their WeChat account, and the Resort Reservation Center. You can opt to call Shanghai Disney Resort at 400-1800-000 (Chinese Mainland) or +86-21-3158-0000 (Other Countries/Regions) or send an email to [email protected]. You should receive your refund within 45 business days.
