Are you planning a trip to Disney World in March?
To be honest, ANY time of year feels like a good time to be at Disney World, but at certain times of year you may encounter problems — like crowds, hurricanes, or other things that can affect your trip.
So we’re here today with a word of warning about a specific problem you might encounter in March at certain hotels.
March is the start of spring, the start of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, and the start of … spring break. And with spring break comes LOTS of school trips to Disney World!
It is absolutely fun for high school sports teams, dance and cheer teams, bands, choirs, and other groups to come to Disney World to compete or perform. It is perhaps less fun for a family trying to rest up for their big day at Hollywood Studios to be staying in a hotel room near seven rooms filled with giddy teens.
And that’s why we want to take this moment to tell you — or remind you — that MANY of these students groups who travel over spring break stay in the All-Star Resorts. Those are three of Disney’s value hotels — All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, and All-Star Sports.
These hotels have fun theming, nice pools, and …cheaper rates, which is why so many groups stay there. Wide World of Sports at Diseny World is hosting a huge event — Disney Spring Training — during spring break season this year, which will bring lots of baseball and softball teams to Orlando.
And that’s a great thing for the kids, but if you’re planning a stay at an All-Star Resort, it may not feel like quite so great a thing. We recommend trying to change your reservation to another hotel — such as Pop Century — if you’re concerned about noise during your March stay!

My daughter’s HS band and choir will be there 3/29-4/2. (my daughter is in the band. Percussion/mallets.) We’re tagging along (not as chaperones) and WE are staying on property (Yacht). However, the kids are staying off property and hiring private buses. The school & travel agent feel it’s easier to move them as a group. And it was DEFINITELY cheaper! They’ll eat breakfast at their hotel, then all board the buses to go to whatever park. They will do the same in reverse at the end of the day.
Disney is doing their workshops at EPCOT, not Hollywood Studios. And our group won’t be doing any public performances. Disney is working on a backlog from COVID and we had to submit an audition tape for a public performance. We weren’t chosen. There are also more workshops being scheduled, which means times are out of whack. Our chorus’ workshop is at 7:30 AM and our band is at 9:30 PM!
