Disney World hotels are changing!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting whole new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas. Meanwhile, both Disney’s Beach Club and BoardWalk Inn Resorts are getting new rooms. We previously told you that Disney’s Caribbean Beach was getting new rooms, too, and we’re going to take you on a full tour of those rooms RIGHT NOW.
The new rooms at Caribbean Beach are designed around a Little Mermaid theme, which means we were super excited to finally get to see them. We did get a sneak peek in late 2022, but we’re going to show you EVERYTHING in the new “Under The Sea” rooms. So let’s go!
The color scheme is VERY sea-like, but it also still maintains a sort of tropical feel. We’re talking whites, sea greens, and light blues with pops of light yellows and oranges.
The main bed is your standard comfy Disney bed with yellow accents.
You want pillows? You’ll get LOTS of them (we do like that Disney does NOT skimp on the pillows).
There’s a little table with outlets to the right of the bed.
Across from the bed is where you’ll find your dresser and TV, as well as coffee-making supplies.
The remote and an informational brochure are on the top of the dresser.
The coffee maker, cream, sugar, tea, and more, are tucked in the corner where the dresser meets the wall. The artwork behind it is SO adorable.
You’ll find that seahorse motif throughout.
Above that is a small shelving unit that includes your ice bucket. There’s more fun artwork behind the shelf.
Below the coffee maker, you’ll find a cabinet with a safe…
…and a trash/recycling bin.
A mini fridge is hiding underneath the next cabinet over.
There’s an empty drawer for storage above that.
The thermostat is on the wall nearest the coffee-making supplies.
Next to the dresser is what seems to be more places to store stuff.
However, the top part of this unit pulls down into a smaller twin-sized bed!
Above the bed is some more gorgeous Under the Sea artwork. Look at it! The fishies are SLEEPING. Sebastian is in the middle getting some shuteye.
There’s a sofa with a footstool on the other side of the room.
Look at how nifty this footstool is — it also opens up for storage.
The artwork above it really does capture the spirit of The Little Mermaid.
Pull down on those bars and you get another bed. This is similar to the pull-down beds you’ll find at Disney World’s value resorts. It’s a great use of space!
You’ll find more artwork of sleeping fishes above this bed.
The table beside this bed is where you’ll find the phone. We’d also like to point out that the room has lots of outlets, including USB outlets.
The table has a drawer and another space for storing your stuff.
There’s a reading light above the table.
Look at these charming room curtains. We love the tropical flower pattern on them.
If you open them, there’s a sheer panel behind them.
The window is next to the door.
You’ll find a mirror by the window, too, on the parallel wall.
In the bathroom, you’ll find two sinks and a mirror.
The colors here are like a natural wood color.
You’ll be supplied with those wonderful H20 amenities.
You’ll find plenty of hand towels and washcloths underneath the sink area.
There’s even a step stool for your little ones.
Oh, hey, there’s a Hidden Mickey!
There’s a drawer for storage on the bottom right.
If you like using a magnifying mirror for makeup or shaving, they’ve got you covered.
To the right of the sinks are some shelves — these rooms have a lot of great spaces for organization and storage.
The blow dryer will be on the bottom shelf, just in case you need it.
Opposite that little storage area is a closet.
An extra pillow and blanket are on the top shelf. There are plenty of hangers for those items you wish to hang up during your stay.
An iron is in the bottom of the closet, and there’s a space to the left of that with an ironing board.
The shower and toilet are in their own separate room.
You’ll find plenty of towels available.
We are in LOVE with the art above the toilet. It’s Sebastian and Flounder!
The shower has glass doors. There is also a tub.
Inside the shower, you’ll find more of those H20 amenities in refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles.
So there you have it, that’s what the new rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort look like. We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney World updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

We stayed in a mermaid room in June. Very nice, clean and comfy. A good walk to the skyline, but pleasant. Would recommend .
The Caribbean is a beautiful resort.

I’m concerned about the lack of storage for a longer stay. We come from the UK and always stay for three weeks and are a family of 5. There is hardly any hanging space now and only 3 large drawers, not even enough for one each. They could have easily maximised on what they have easily – if they had to go with the r configuration in the closet get rid of the divider between the hanging space and the ironing board, that would give at least an extra 15cm of hanging. Also in the closet where the shelves are, add more shelves, no need to space them out so much. Then there is the bedside table in the middle, max that out, they could have made this a three drawer set.

Wow. Great design and layout for the Under the Sea rooms at the Caribbean Beach Resort. Well done, Imagineer Team and WDW! Does the Caribbean Beach Resort have guest laundry facilities? Sometimes we do the wash so we don’t have to pack a lot and check luggage on the plane ride down.
Mike says
Will someone please explain to me why there is only one bedside table? It’s not just Disney but more and more motels/hotels are doing that. It’s just seems Disney should be more accommodating.
Erik says
Decided lack of the Little Mermaid in that Little Mermaid themed room…
That said, love the feel of the room, just wish Ariel was seen at least once.
Pris says
I’ll never stay there. The rooms are cheap and ugly!
Allison Scheerer says
I just stayed in one in August. It was so nice! But just so you know its called Under the sea themed rooms. There are no pictures of Ariel in the room. When I was checking in they kept stressing it was not little mermaid themed due to no pictures of Ariel which I totally get. If you have a small child or you yourself are a huge fan you are not going to see her. Just an FYI.
Brian says
I’m curious as to why a Little Mermaid themed room would not have one picture of Arielle (The Little Mermaid)? At least I haven’t seen one in the pictures above.
Julie says
The curtains don’t reach the bottom of the window. In the morning our room is so bright because our room faces east. Bring eye masks !
Josh B says
My family of 4 stayed at CBR back at the end of January ’23 for a week in one of these rooms. We must have been one of the first guest in that room since the refurb. It even smelled new and there were construction crews set up in the parking lot and walking around working in other rooms during the day. It was really nice for us. While we did find ourselves wishing we had an extra drawer, it wasn’t the end of the world. A lot of it was food stuffs and other items from the road trip driving there so we just stored it in suitcases under the main bed. The beds were very comfortable and the theming was perfect for our kids. Enough but not over the top. We loved staying there and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

You show H2O+ products in the bathroom, but they were retired last February, at least from ShopDisney. How are they available in the Disney hotels?
Marianne Johnson says
Everything looks really nice. Did I miss it or is there no Ariel, the Little Mermaid?
DFB Gigi says
I’m assuming they had quite a supply left or that H2O+ was able to supply them for a while, but it will eventually be changing to something else.
DFB Gigi says
Hi Randy! Yes, there is a laundry facility at Caribbean Beach Resort. I do the same thing and made sure I would be able to before staying there a couple of years ago.

Very disappointing compared to what this is taking the place of: the super themed pirate rooms vs the No-Little Mermaid rooms. The cheap curtains don’t even fit. So antiseptic looking, reminds me of my hospital room.
Lisa says
Boring! I’m not liking any of the current room updates. They remove all the personality, and replace it with something akin to a low end/low cost value hotel. They’ve done this before and continue to ruin so many hotel experiences.
Essie says
I think it looks very nice. I just can’t afford the moderate price hotels anymore, and to think that I used to stay at the Contemporary on all my visits! All I use my hotel room for is changing clothes, showering and sleeping anyway; the rest of the time I’m in the parks.
