Disney does a lot of fun collaborations with other brands. Of course, we’re ALL familiar with Disney’s collaborations with Loungefly because we keep throwing money at those bags (#sorrynotsorry). The company has even teamed up with luxury brands, like Mercedes, to bring something new to Disney fans.
We were pretty excited when Disney recently announced a new collaboration with Old Navy for a brand new Mickey & Friends collection, and to kick off this new partnership, Old Navy x Disney brought a fun event to several cities with the Old Navy x Disney Road Trip. We recently attended the event at the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, California, so come with us to check it out!
Okay, fun fact…did you know Santa Monica Pier is the official end of the historic Route 66? Well, now you know. So we paid homage to the sign marking that before we visited the Old Navy x Disney Road Trip.
We followed the signs to check out “The Most Magical Summer Ever.” The classic Mustang we saw parked in the big inflatable enclosure gave us Cars vibes, appropriately enough.
The Old Navy x Disney Road Trip will be available for Disney fans all weekend as part of the Santa Monica Pier 360 Beach Festival. This pop-up is free and family-friendly and, if you couldn’t tell, inspired by the classic American road trip experience.
Of course, you can also check out the new Old Navy x Disney collection and even buy some items at a discounted price.
The event includes fun summer-themed photo ops, food and drinks, giveaways, and more. Many of the vendors were also handing out free samples, although you could also purchase food and drinks. For adults, there was even a pop-up Beer Garden where you could purchase drinks and sit for a little while.
Our first stop was at the Cold Treats booth, where you can get free bottles of water and a small soft-serve ice cream. Y’all…THEY HAD DOLE WHIP.
But the BEST part was that we got to see the Disneyland Band in a surprise live performance at the Santa Monica “Pier 360” Beach Festival. They played a medley of Disney tunes, including the new Disneyland 70th Anniversary anthem “Celebrate Happy.” Oh, and hey, Mickey was there, too, in his Disneyland 70th Anniversary outfit.
If you can’t make it to the pop-up, though, you can still shop the Old Navy x Disney Mickey & Friends collection online through July 5th.
Stay tuned to DFB for more.

We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disney and Old Navy to attend their media preview of Old Navy x Disney Road Trip. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably.
