I’m not trying to be dramatic, but when I first saw this snack was coming to Disneyland, I nearly booked a plane ticket to fly across the country.
While I remain in the Sunshine State — devoid of this snack — in a cruel twist of fate, I do get the pleasure of bringing our reporter’s findings to you in the form of this review. So, find out what’s cookin’ at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs at Downtown Disney!
We stopped by Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District to try the new Jalapeño Popper Mozzarella Stick, which is available for $15.50 and is served with a side of chips. Inside this fried snack masterpiece are jalapeños, bacon, and red & green onions, mixed with a blend of cream cheese, mozzarella, cheddar, and pepper jack cheeses, all fried in cornmeal batter and panko breadcrumbs. Oh yeah, and it’s served with a side of garlic mayo.
We thought the jalapeño popper taste was on point, but it wasn’t spicy at all! In fact, we thought the spice was more in the garlic mayo sauce than anything. The flavors all work so well together, and while we wouldn’t say this is a meal, it’s definitely shareable! It doesn’t stay on the stick very well because it’s so gooey, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, if you ask us. Luckily, they serve it in a little dish with a fork and knife — which you will probably need.
The panko breadcrumbs really give it that crunch it needs because of how gooey the inside is. Honestly, we had no complaints and thought it was an excellent addition to the Blue Ribbon lineup.
This is a limited-time snack, and we’re not sure how long it will stick around, so make sure you grab it as soon as possible before it’s gone!
We’ll be on the lookout for more fun new snacks to try around Disneyland Resort and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney snack reviews, news, and more.
