Disneyland first opened to guests on July 17, 1955. Walt Disney has been quoted as saying, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”
In that spirit, new rides, attractions, and even new LANDS have and will continue to become part of the landscape of Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure. Here, we’re exploring all of the NEW rides and attractions at and on the way to the Disneyland Resort theme parks!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — Opening in 2024
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in both Disneyland park and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 2024! Splash Mountain closed permanently on May 31st to be rethemed into an attraction inspired by the Disney animated film, The Princess and the Frog.
Disney has shared that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.”
While the ride will open in the summer of 2024 in Disney World, it’s been announced that the attraction will open “later in 2024” in Disneyland.

New Avengers Campus Attraction AND Land Expansion — Opening Timeline To-Be-Announced
In September 2022, Disney announced that a NEW attraction will be part of an upcoming expansion of Avengers Campus (which opened in Disney California Adventure in June 2021)! Get ready to go deeper into the MULTIVERSE…
Though the name of the new ride has not yet been announced, we know that guests will battle villains — including the new King Thanos — from everywhere (and “everywhen“) alongside the Avengers and their allies.
In September 2023, At Destination D23, Brent Strong from Disney Imagineering explained the idea behind the new ride. Basically, the Avengers have developed a new technology that allows Avengers Campus to become a sort of a hub for the Multiverse. This includes a new vehicle that can transport “recruits” to new worlds in a split second to go on a multi-world mission.
Strong also shared an early look at the NEW ride vehicle, which will feature “a design that combines elements of Tony Stark’s time-suits with Xandarian jump points and Wakandan technology,” according to Disney.

We’ll be keeping you posted on these and other attractions on the way to Disneyland Resort, so stay tuned!
