The Atmosphere at Yak & Yeti Restaurant
If you’re on a pilgrimage en route from Africa to Mount Everest to conquer the mountain and the dreaded Yeti, you’ll surely see Yak and Yeti Restaurant. Even the brightly painted exterior mimics that which you might see on the colorful village streets of Northern India or Nepal.
The building is owned by a former merchant named Arjun — and he’s transformed his ornate home into lodging for weary travelers.
The restaurant itself is Asian, and that’s definitely reflected in the decor!
You’ll find multiple pieces of artwork, sculptures, and tchotchkes all around the lobby and the dining rooms, which span both the upstairs and downstairs sections — there’s certainly no shortage of seating.
The dining rooms are fairly dark, with warm lamp lighting and lots of natural wood accents. We definitely suggest taking some extra time to look around and really soak in all of the details here.
You’ll find a bar located just to the right of the lobby area. The chairs in here are HEFTY, but they’re also super comfortable. Between the cozy seating and friendly vibe, the bar is a great area to hang out and enjoy a drink or even a meal — the full menu is available here!
Just keep in mind that seating is first-come, first-served at the bar.

Travel to Asia’s Yak & Yeti Restaurant if…
You’re in the mood for some Asian food. This restaurant has a delicious selection of Asian eats, and it’s the only Table Service spot in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom. You can find delicious Asian food at Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs and Shiki-Sai in EPCOT, but this is another solid option.
You want a relaxing midday meal. There are quite a few places where you can enjoy a chill meal at Animal Kingdom, and this spot definitely makes that list! Between the mood lighting and the comfort food, it’s a solid place to recharge.
You’re taking advantage of an exclusive discount. This spot is run by a company named Landry’s, and they even offer a special membership to their select club, where you can get discounts on their restaurants. Your server may give you a brochure, but if not, it’s worth asking about if you aren’t already a member!
Bypass this Asian restaurant if…
You can’t commit to a reservation. If you just want a taste of Yak & Yeti, you can get that at the quick service location of the same name!
You want the BEST food in Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom is known for its incredible Quick Service restaurants and snack stands. If it’s your first visit, we’d recommend exploring those as you make your way around the park. The Cheeseburger Pods at Satu’li Canteen and the Pulled Pork Cheese Fries at Flame Tree Barbecue might just change your life!
You are desperate for a place to sit in the A/C. It can be tempting to hop into the nearest Table Service restaurant for a guaranteed hour (or more) out of the Florida sun…but in Animal Kingdom, that’s not an issue! Head to one of the shows like Festival of the Lion King, or snag an inside table at Satu’li Canteen.
