Purchasing the Disney Dining Plan (or scoring free DDP!) for your Walt Disney World vacation can mean real value for your vacation dining — but some uses of those Disney Dining Plan credits (officially called entitlements) are better than others.
This time, it’s all about the one-credit table service Disney Dining Plan! We scour menus to try to find the monetary values, but we also consider food quality and the atmosphere in which guests dine. Because it doesn’t matter how much money you’re saving by using your credits if the restaurant’s environment and food are duds.
Easily one of the most spectacular restaurants in terms of decor and ambiance, Morimoto Asia in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs also offers tremendous value. But the best part? The food is outstanding!
Dinner at Morimoto Asia is a signature affair and requires two DDP credits, but for 2018, lunch remains one credit — and it’s a credit very well spent! Some entrees here cost nearly $40, and there are plenty of options for alcoholic beverages if you’re looking to up your value even further.
Get ready to rise and shine! Because soon it’s going to be time for Sunday BRUNCH at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’!
Every Sunday, the Rise ’n Shine Brunch will be offered from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. (The regular full menu will also be available after 11:00 am.)
Menu items for breakfast-meets-lunch will include Fried Chicken and House-made Sugar Doughnuts, Shrimp & Grits, Short Rib Hash, and an open-faced Big Biscuit topped with poached eggs, griddled country ham and house-made hollandaise sauce.

You already know that Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant is the place to go for innovative and classic takes on Irish cuisine. And that you can listen to rocking tunes while chowing down on fish and chips. And that there’s an extensive drinks menu here, making it a terrific night out for the grown ups.

February 4, 2017,
will be the opening date for Paddlefish, the establishment previously known as Fulton’s Crab House in Disney Springs (which was previously known as Downtown Disney 😉 ).
Paddlefish, a Levy restaurant, will retain a focus on fresh seafood (along with steaks and chops), even though the space itself has received a “bow to stern” update! The new space with a sleek look and modern feel will play host to lunch and dinner — as well as Brunch on Sundays — complete with a brand new rooftop lounge featuring terrific waterfront views. Even though Morimoto Asia has only been open for just over a year, in that time it has already debuted a few new offerings.
Since we first took in dinner at this signature restaurant located in The Landing of Disney Springs it has added Morimoto Asia Street Food, a Counter Service spot for casual and quick dining featuring more of Chef Morimoto’s Pan-Asian cuisine. And over the summer we tried the new Late Night menu, which is available starting at 10PM Sundays through Thursdays, and 11PM Fridays and Saturdays.
Now we’re back to check out yet another Morimoto Asia dining opportunity: the new Dim Sum Brunch! Dim Sum is a type of meal very popular in Asian cuisine featuring smaller plates so everyone can enjoy various items in one seating.
Before we dive into what’s on the menu, let’s go over some logistics: the Dim Sum Brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30AM to 3:00PM, and the cost is $27.00 per guest. All brunch seating is upstairs at Morimoto Asia (including the 2nd floor outdoor area).
Guests ordering Brunch may also order off the regular menu. Also, guests dining at tables downstairs can order off the Brunch menu (though in an a la carte fashion). [Read more…]

DFB reporter James Armstrong recently attended Sweet Sundays with celebrity chef Carla Hall (co-host of The Chew and Top Chef Alum) during the 2013 Epcot Food and Wine Festival! Let’s check out his review!
The two hour event was divided up into two parts: the first hour consisted of the Sunday Brunch and the second was the celebrity chef demonstration. Upon arrival at 9:30am, we lined up for our table assignments. Doors opened promptly at 10am.
Each assigned table sat approximately six guests with seats on a first come first serve basis. The tables were set with pre-made yogurt parfaits and orange juice.
Once most of the guests had arrived, waiters began escorting each table to the buffet in an orderly “one table at a time” fashion.
The brunch portion of the event started with some standard buffet items — croissants and strawberry cheese danish. They were good but there was nothing exceptional about them. The croissant was flaky and buttery.
There was also fresh raspberries and blueberries [provided by Driscoll’s one of the Festival sponsors]. They were very sweet and at the height of their ripeness.
A favorite part of the buffet was the [Read more…]
