We just got a peek at some big progress on the Avengers Campus in Disneyland!
Prior to the park closures, Avengers Campus was originally slated to open in Disney California Adventure on July 18th, 2020. And even though we don’t yet know when the new opening date will be, it looks like some serious progress is being made!
While Disneyland is closed, we’re missing A LOT about the parks…especially our favorite foods! Well, there’s still one very BIG reason that you should want to go to Disneyland right now (yep, even while those main gates are still closed!).
We’re specifically talking CHURRO TOFFEEEE! If you know us, you might know we’re basically OBSESSED with this stuff! Oh boy! Mickey would LOVE all the merchandise celebrating Disneyland Resort’s 65th Anniversary!
Disneyland kicked off its 65th birthday with an online event that drew in tons of Disney fans. Customers had to sit in the virtual line for hours for a chance to order some of the hot new items. Anyone located in Southern California could venture to World of Disney located in Downtown Disney and stock up on the anniversary merchandise in person. The global health crisis has brought along another major event cancellation in Disney World.
Disney Vacation Club Members get to enjoy lots of different perks — one of the newest being the Moonlight Magic events that give them after-hours access to the theme parks to attend dance parties, eat snacks, ride rides, and meet characters. We’ve already seen several of the events canceled, and now the rest of the scheduled Moonlight Magic events have been canceled for 2020.
Disney California Adventure’s Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party officially debuted on select evenings last year at Disneyland Resort. Many parties quickly sold out.
And last Fall, Disneyland announced Oogie Boogie Bash would be returning in 2020, but dates were never announced and tickets to the special events never went on sale. Now that Disneyland Park Resort’s theme park and hotels have and will remain closed until further notice, Disney has officially canceled Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween parties this year.
Disneyland Resort has been closed since March with no established reopening date.
Annual Passholders were granted an initial extension when the park first closed. Passholders who paid in full automatically had their expiration date extended for the number of days the parks will be closed or have the option to receive a partial refund. Monthly payments were paused for Passholders who were on the monthly payment program. Disneyland has now issued another statement regarding pass extensions. [Read more…]
Disneyland Resort closed in March due to the global health crisis and was set to reopen mid-July. The closure has now been extended until further notice with no new reopening date in place. This setback caused Disney to make a few important adjustments to Disneyland’s Travel Information page.
Aside from the expected updated language reflecting the delayed opening, Disney has updated some booking information regarding cancellation policies and reservation changes. [Read more…]
We’ve been wondering a lot about how the historic closures of the Disney parks might affect the progress of Disney’s upcoming attractions.
Well, Disney just gave us a little bit of an update. With the recent announcement of a full re-theme of Splash Mountain in Disney World and Disneyland, Disney provided a little insight into how this project and the closures have affected projects such as Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure and TRON: Lightcycle Run in Magic Kingdom.
It has just been announced that Californians are required to wear face masks or coverings when in common and public spaces.
Starting today — June 18th — coverings must be worn “in common and public indoor spaces and outdoors when distancing is not possible.” [Read more…]
