Something new is on the way at Universal Studios in Orlando — but we’re not quite sure what yet.
Back in August, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit closed for good, and we’ve been keeping an eye on the latest construction updates. While Universal hasn’t officially announced what will be taking the place of the former roller coaster, we do know that the entire coaster and related structures are being demolished to make way for the new attraction. Epic Universe isn’t the only new thing coming to Universal Orlando!
A recently filed permit confirmed that Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit would be closed and demolished, and eventually replaced by another attraction. Of course, Universal hasn’t clued us into what this new attraction might be, but it does look like things are quickly moving forward as another permit has been filed for this project.
Disney World isn’t the only theme park resort making some huge changes in 2025.
Universal Orlando has a pretty big year ahead of it, too, especially with the opening of Epic Universe in May. However, some other big changes seem to be coming to Univeral Orlando, too, and we recently uncovered a permit suggesting that a classic roller coaster would be getting demolished soon. Well, Universal Orlando has now confirmed that this ride will be closing next year.
Good things come and go, but a the closure of this popular theme park roller coaster was definitely not on our 2025 bingo cards.
