New space-themed experiences are going to be coming to the Florida and California LEGOLAND Resorts in what will be the biggest single in-park investment EVER! Let’s take a look at the details.
We have a feeling that major LEGO fans will be buying tickets to fly to Shanghai soon. You might be thinking, “Shanghai? LEGO? What?“, but let us explain.

Here in America, we’re very familiar with LEGOLAND. There’s a LEGOLAND in Florida, and a LEGOLAND in California. However, did you know that the largest LEGOLAND won’t be in the US? Shanghai is getting the world’s largest LEGOLAND, and it’s opening VERY soon!
Disney World and Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe might just want to take a step back for a moment.

Because, you see, they aren’t the ONLY theme parks in Orlando. Nope, LEGOLAND Florida is also here, and it’s about to get even more exciting. We recently told you about some upgrades at the LEGOLAND Hotel, but now, LEGOLAND has announced a brand new innovative indoor roller coaster coming to both its LEGOLAND Florida and LEGOLAND California parks — and we’ve got ALL the details!

While many Orlando travelers are only focused on visiting Disney World or Universal Orlando, which are both fantastic vacation spots, don’t get us wrong, there are lots of other theme parks and attractions located around the city.

For example, LEGOLAND is a fantastic choice for guests who either love LEGOs or want a fun new theme park experience. In fact, this entire theme park is often way more exciting than people expect. If you’ve been thinking about taking a trip to explore this exciting park, you won’t want to miss the NEW event they just announced!
There is just so much to do in the Orlando area, and that’s not even including Disney World and Universal Orlando (although with Epic Universe opening up soon and Disney World getting some pretty big expansions, you might be pretty busy with those two resorts soon).

If you’ve got kids or just people who love LEGO in your group, you may want to consider a trip to LEGOLAND Florida, which offers a lot of LEGO fun, including entertainment, rides, and more for LEGO lovers. You can also book a stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel, which will soon have new DUPLO-themed rooms PERFECT for little builders.
LEGOLAND Florida sent a message to its employees informing staff that mass layoffs are on the horizon.

NBC News affiliate WFLA reported that Merlin Entertainment, the company that owns and operates LEGOLAND Florida, is eliminating 234 positions. The notice was sent on January 24th, 2025.
We talk about Disney World a lot around here, but there are some other GREAT theme parks in Florida. In fact, the theme park area where LEGOLAND Florida lives used to be home to Florida’s first theme park — Cypress Gardens.

As the name implies, Cypress Gardens was a “dream garden” created by Dick Pope, Sr., who once told his wife, “Someday we’ll build a Garden and attract visitors to Winter Haven!” according to VisitCentralFlorida.com. Amazingly, it worked.
We have been following the status of the major theme parks in Orlando including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld as they are all currently closed until further notice in light of the current global situation.
