September is bringing some big refurbishment news to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, and if you’ve got a trip planned, you’ll want to know what’s temporarily unavailable. Three rides are closed during the month, and while two of them will be back before long, one is going to be down for quite a while. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is officially closed for a major overhaul, and when it returns in 2026, it won’t just be a touch-up. Disney has revealed several big changes coming to the ride, and we think these are the kinds of updates that could completely change how you experience one of Tomorrowland’s most classic attractions. From a brand-new character to interactive technology and reimagined ride vehicles, the future of Space Ranger Spin looks very different. Let’s break down the four updates you’ll want to know about and why they matter way more than you think.
There have been a lot of closure announcements for Disney World! However, we FINALLY learned when a closed experience will be reopening.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed back on March 17th, and Disney has been hard at work transforming the area into a BRAND-NEW show. We have been eagerly awaiting an opening date that is more precise than “winter 2025,” and we officially have that date!
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE going to Disney World. That being said, there is one thing that will have me hesitant for a Disney day!

It may be a weird reason, but I just can’t do Disney World in a group of three. If you give me a chance, I can explain, and you’ll probably see why!

Disney‘s newest lounge is almost here! Over in Magic Kingdom, the brand-new Beak and Barrel lounge opens on August 29th, 2025. The new dining spot in the park will be a “first-of-its-kind experience” that “will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.”
