There’s a bit of construction at Disney World right now!
Sometimes, rides, restaurants, and hotels will close temporarily for maintenance or refurbishment. And of course, you’ll want to keep an eye out for any of those closures during your trip! So today, we’re bringing you our weekly refurbishment update for May 24th-30th.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Hall of Presidents
The Hall of Presidents has been closed for a couple of months now, as an animatronic for President Joe Biden is installed. No surprises here! This refurb happens every time a new U.S. President is elected, in order to add that new animatronic.
Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date yet, but we’ll keep you posted when they do!

Walt Disney World Railroad
Elsewhere in the park, the Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since December 2018. That’s over 2 YEARS! The shutdown allows for construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run, which is currently blocking the Railroad’s route through Tomorrowland.
TRON construction has likely been delayed, so it may be a while before this congestion is cleared. As you may expect, Disney has not yet announced a reopening date for our beloved Railroad. We’ll let you know when they do!

Main Street Confectionery
Last but not least, the Main Street Confectionery is closed for a pretty extensive refurb! In the meantime, you can get your sugar fix at Main Street Cinema — they’ve got all of the Confectionery’s goodies in stock.
And ya guessed it — Disney hasn’t yet announced a reopening date for this, either. We’ll keep you posted, though! And while you’re wandering around Main Street, U.S.A., keep in mind that The Chapeau is closed, too.

Disney World Resort Refurbishments
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Time to take a look at some hotels! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is currently undergoing a HUGE refurb, with changes to the main entrance, lobby, and monorail station.
The rooms are also getting a Moana-inspired makeover! We can’t wait to step inside and see ’em for ourselves.
You can book these reimagined rules for stays beginning July 19th. We should see the rest of the construction wrap up this summer, too!

Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the Main Tower Guest Rooms are being refurbished! Guests and visitors should not be affected by this construction — other than the fact that it’s LOUD. A Cast Member confirmed that the project should be finished by the end of September.
As far as restaurants go, The Wave is closing for a lengthy refurb in July. Just keep that in mind if you’re planning a visit!
