Avengers Campus is opening at Disney California Adventure THIS Friday!

And we don’t even need to tell ya how excited we are, because we’re sure you are, too! We’ve spent the last few months telling you just about everything you need to know about this new Marvel-inspired land, from the wacky food offerings to an all-new attraction experience. And today, we’re watching the grand opening LIVE!

Tonight, Disney is streaming the Avengers Campus opening ceremony for us all to enjoy — and we’re even going to get a peek inside the land! Needless to say, we’re pumped for this BIG step forward. So of course, we tuned in!

The event began with a virtual tour guided by the voice of Friday, one of Tony Stark’s latest creations! At first glance, Avengers Campus looks like it will be a super interactive area where the heroes we know from the comics and films teach us how to become the next set of Avengers!

The characters will be a major part of this new land and will have many opportunities to interact with guests.

We got to see even more of WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, where we get to help Spider-Man fight off the Spider Bots he created!

You’ll grab your WEB Vision glasses and shoot webs at the bots.

Zoe Saldana, known for playing Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy, took the new attraction for a spin!

Although we’ve seen most of the food from Avengers Campus, Disneyland Culinary Director John State took us though the eats at the Pym Test Kitchen and talked about the other restaurants in the new land!

Dr. Strange fans, get excited! You will be able to step into the Ancient Sanctum where Dr. Stephen Strange will help bring out your inner sorcerer.

Another interactive character experience will be with Okoye from Black Panther!

She and the rest of the Dora Milaje will help you become a warrior.

When you visit Avengers Campus you’ll want to look up! Spider-Man will be soaring through the sky, and it’s quite the sight to see! We’ve gone into detail on how Disney makes Robo-Spider-Man fly, but it’s pretty incredible to watch it happen!

After the virtual tour, it was time for the live opening ceremony! We heard from leaders at Disney including Josh D’Amaro…

…CEO Bob Chapek…

…and Kevin Feige from Marvel!

Disney had hinted at some special guests, and Paul Rudd was the first big guest to join us!

Jon Favreau also made a guest appearance right below the Quinjet!

While some of our favorite Marvel actors were able to be a part of the live ceremony, others sent in videos for the special event including Scarlet Johansson, Paul Bettany, Brie Larson, Mark Ruffalo, and MORE!

The incredible flying Spider-Man animatronic then took flight live! We can’t get over the fact that this is an animatronic!

Then, Anthony Mackie, (known for playing the Falcon and the new Captain America) came out with the iconic shield and passed it on to the new Captain America of Avengers Campus. He gave a heartfelt speech about what the new Captain America meant to him and to everyone who is watching before the passing of the shield.

To finish it all off, Disney officially opened Avengers Campus with a BANG. Literally! Fireworks went off right behind the Quinjet with a ton of Marvel characters for a truly spectacular finale!
