The holidays are quickly approaching at Walt Disney World!
Although there will be no Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year, there WILL be an After Hours event! And Disney just announced a ton of details about it! It’s called Disney Very Merriest After Hours and guess what? “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade” is BACK!!
That’s right folks, Mickey’s Christmastime Parade is returning! This will be the first parade in Disney World since the parks shut down due to the pandemic. All we’ve had since the parks reopened are cavalcades, which are basically just mini-parades.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be joined by characters from Frozen, the Toy Soldiers, and, of course, Santa Claus himself!
Tickets for the event will let you into Magic Kingdom at 7PM, allowing you to also see the Disney Enchantment fireworks show coming to the park for the 50th anniversary. So, you can get 2 fireworks shows in one night because there will be fireworks during the After Hours event as well!
Tickets will go on sale August 20th and can be bought online or over the phone at 407-939-7947. Guests of select Disney Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, as well as Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort can book their tickets as early as August 17th. We’ll keep you updated with more info, so stay tuned to DFB!

Jesse Marshall says
So with the D variant running rampant in Florida Disney wants to get people closer and closer together. Disney is not with the price of admission when it’s crowded. I have been twice since July but only because the reduced crowds allowed I our family to get our monies worth.
Su Goods says
If parades can be watched at the Christmas party can’t parades be a part of the everyday Disney experience?? Not asking for a friend but for me. I miss the parades.
John Herman Ismey says
Disney having parades for Christmas Holiday that sounds great . Disney will have 2 fire works per night they are trying to give the guest a great time . How many are going to this celebrate the holiday .
Lisa says
I suppose the parade will ONLY be for those willing to pay over $200.00 for the after hours Christmas event though! If I am wrong in supposing this, someone PLEASE set me straight!
Robin says
Will the parade only be for the after hour guests? Will they have the holiday parade for non-after hour holiday days or will that be something you have to pay extra for also? Our kids loved the holiday parade but they would not have been able to stay up for it had it been at night.
DFB Sarah says
Robin, so far we only know that it will run during the After Hours event, but we will update if it ends up being available for all guests (could happen, possibly, closer to Christmas).
DFB Sarah says
Lisa, so far that’s all Disney has said. It’s possible we could see this for dates closer to Christmas, but we will have to wait and see if that happens.
DFB Sarah says
Su, I wonder if the parade returning for the Christmas party might be due to the limited capacity at the After Hours event, but regardless, we will be watching and reporting should parades make a return!
Diane Levendakes says
Since tickets have been on sale for over a week now, any indications of nights selling out? I know you reported on some of nights, of the Halloween event selling out.
We bought our tickets for Dec. 2nd and sort of hoping it won’t be a sell out.
We went to the Villains After Hours in July of 2019 and it was crazy crowded, not to mention the scads of peeps w/o event bands still in the park.
