This year, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has been canceled, but you’ll still get to celebrate the holiday season in Magic Kingdom with Disney’s NEW Very Merriest After Hours event.
So far, we’ve taken a look at the date range and times released for the After Hours event, and we’ve shared how it’s different than Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. But, today we finally got some really important information for the new After Hours event — how much it will cost!
Disney Very Merriest After Hours is a NEW holiday event that will be taking place this year. It will be available on select nights from November 8th through December 21st at Magic Kingdom. Guests will get to enjoy holiday treats, interactions with Disney characters, snow falling on Main Street, U.S.A., and more.
Tickets for the 4-hour event will grant guests admission to Magic Kingdom as early as 7PM.
Tickets for Very Merriest After Hours will go on sale on August 20th and will be available for purchase online or by calling 407-939-7947. Select guests, however, will be able to purchase their tickets early. Specifically, Disney has shared that “Guests of select Disney Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, as well as Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort can book their tickets as early as August 17.”
And that leads us to the question you’re probably thinking about right now — just how much will those tickets costs?
Tickets will range in price from $169 to $229 (plus tax) for select nights in November and December. Tickets will be priced at $249 (plus tax), however, for December 19th and December 21st.
Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members will be able to get $10 off their tickets on select event nights in November.
Note that if you buy a ticket to Very Merriest After Hours you will not need a traditional theme park ticket or a Disney Park Pass theme park reservation to enter the After Hours event.
We’ll be sharing lots more information about Very Merriest After Hours soon, so check back with us for more updates.

What do you think of the prices for Very Merriest After Hours? Tell us in the comments!
John Keating says
Wow Disney certainly know how to change a party name and increase prices all in one glorious advertisement
Margaret Zukoski says
OMG…the price for the Christmas party is ridiculous! I’m speechless! For four hours??
marlene kardamitchis says
Is someone kidding with these ticket prices?
Madelyn says
No way would I spend that kind of money for a scaled back Christmas party. I’ll take a pass.
Melanie Desarro says
We have never been to a Disney “ticketed “ event. We already have a magic kingdom reservation for November 11. And have decided to go to the Christmas event. Do I go online at midnight to try and get tickets?
Tink says
Pre-Covid we went and it was a great disappointment. Weather was very cold for FL and most people had to wear coats and sweaters so they never checked the wristbands. Literally thousands of people hung around free of charge. Some even bragged about it on the resort buses afterwards. Very sad that people wound do something like that. I filed a complaint in City Hall but nothing was done about it.
DFB Sarah says
Melanie, typically Disney World opens lines/online for ticket sales at 6AM or 7AM. For the Boo Bash tickets, we tried calling starting at 6AM and couldn’t get through until closer to 7AM. It wouldn’t hurt to check early (even at midnight, if you’re up) in case they go on earlier.
Alfonso says
Nickel and dime, nickel and dime…they may start charging for the air we breathe on their properties soon. Squeezing many families out…
Debbie Friedman says
My husband and I have gone to Merry Christmas party for close to 20 years but not this year. Prices have been increasing yearly and it seems for something that was supposed to be limited tickets sold there have certainly been large crowds. I agree with others that there are many people who just stay for the party without purchasing a ticket and they boast about it. There’s long wait for some attractions, the treats and if you wanted pictures with characters those waits are really long.
Each year we have had four of town family and/or friends join us to celebrate the holidays together. Making the event shorter time and increasing price so much has given this Disney family a reason to stay away. I don’t think the “free” popcorn, ice cream and bottled drink is worth $169 plus even if you include fireworks and parade which also takes you away from attractions for a good deal of time is a way for us to celebrate holidays at the party. $350 for a couple and $700 for a family of 4 is obscene especially given the last 18 months for most people who would love to enjoy the Disney holiday magic. I know Disney is a business but trying to squeeze every last dollar from people certainly is not what Walt had in mind for families to enjoy affordable times together. We will keep our extra money for our own holiday celebrations.
ScarletDoesDisney says
Bob PAYchek at his finest ! He runs none of it with Walt’s belief’s and visions BUT I will be there as he is laughing all the way to the bank
Margaret Zukoski says
Debbie Friedman is SO right! Unfortunately, the company doesn’t care about Walt anymore. And yes, people without event tickets do stay in the park for the event. However, they are not supposed to be permitted to ride the rides and anything else specific to that event. THAT said, Cast Members are supposed to watch for wristbands, but obviously don’t. These prices for so much less is a disgrace, but a lot of people aren’t too smart, and will keep paying no matter badly Disney takes advantage of them. And there’s also those who are independently wealthy and don’t care what they spend….All I know is, if I were independently wealthy, I would be at Disney….I’d be in the South of France or some like location!
Christopher Giannini says
Do we know how many tickets per night is “limited”? How many tickets will they be selling?
DFB Sarah says
Christopher, to my knowledge, Disney doesn’t release set numbers in these instances.
