Howdy, folks! Welcome to Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration!
There is SO much going on right now. There are 50th anniversary decorations up everywhere, we’ve seen the golden character statues in all four parks, we’ve thrown money at a ton of new 50th merchandise, and we trying out ALL the 50th anniversary foods we can because that’s what we do!
And our latest quest to eat EVERYTHING has brought us to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe at Magic Kingdom. Here we’re trying two new 50th anniversary menu items. So let’s get to it! We started with the EARIdescent Nugget Churro for $5.89.
Except…we are often disappointed with Disney World churros. They’re okay, but they’re nothing like the fresh ones we’ve had at Disneyland. These are pretty much the same mini churros Pecos Bill always has, so there’s nothing THAT special about them — even the “EARidescent” sugar looked like regular sugar to us.Â
We washed that so-called EARidescence down with the Bear Tracks Slush for $5.99. This is a Barq’s Root Beer and Vanilla Slush topped with Whipped Cream, Chocolate, and Peanut Butter Pieces. Okay, well, look at it first because we have some things to say here… .
It looks fine, but this slush is…well…not great. It doesn’t taste like Root Beer at all, and it leaves a strong aftertaste in your mouth that will have you quickly reaching for a mint. It was an odd (and BAD) fruity aftertaste. So far, this might be the biggest fail of Disney World’s 50th anniversary foods for us. It probably sounded great on paper, but in reality, it’s a “no” from us.
Like we said, we’re eating ALL THE FOOD Disney World has released for the 50th anniversary, so stay tuned for more reviews!
