Now that Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selection (Pay-Per-Ride) have launched in Disney World, there are more ways than ever to get on attractions.
You can use the standby line, you can pay for Genie+ to skip the lines on certain attractions, or you can pay a separate fee for the most popular attractions to skip the lines there. But one more option is still available in the Disney World parks!
Single rider lines are still available in Disney World. We stopped by Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to check on the single rider line there, and it’s still open!
Expedition Everest used to be one of the pay-per-ride attractions at Animal Kingdom, but since it reopened after its months-long closure, it is now included with the standard Genie+ service. This means that when you buy the $15 per day, per person Genie+ service, you will be able to book a Lightning Lane for Everest without paying for it individually!
We’ve tested the single rider line out, and it’s usually much faster than the posted standby wait time. For example, when we went by recently, the ride had a posted wait of 10 minutes for the standby line and single rider had a wait time of 0 minutes. Note that this can vary though and isn’t a guarantee.
We also noticed that single rider lines were available at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and the single rider line remains separate from the normal line even after the pre-show, although the Lightning Lane merges with the normal line right before the pre-show. It took us 50 minutes to ride, from when we got in the single rider line to when we got off the ride.
Single rider lines were also still open at Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run (which took us about 11 minutes total with single rider line)…
…and Test Track.
Remember that single rider lines are still an option if you are hoping to shorten your wait without Individual Attraction Selections or Genie+. Sometimes you may wait longer than you hoped for, but in some cases, the single rider line really pays off! However, also note that single rider lines are NOT always open when these attractions are open. They can open and close throughout the day, so you’ll need to check at the front of the attraction to see if they’re available.

How long will it take genie plus and the lightning Lanes services to fail? Guess they’re going to get upset because there are no free fastpasses anymore which makes their lives and their trips much easier. Guess should not have to pay for the convenience of being able to ride a ride quicker than normal.
PS And no, I’m NOT planning to use Genie+! !
Why should I spend my Disney trip squinting at a screen 1/20 the size of the one I’m using right now! If I want that kind of torture I can get it right here at home.
As I’ve said many times, I would gladly PAY for FP+ if I had the chance!
Our party of 7 adults is planning on a trip the last week of September. We already have 4 day Hopper passes without Genie +. After watching numerous YouTube videos & seeing the upcoming change to Genie+, we decided to only purchase it on our MK & HS days. We could then apply what we would’ve spent on AK & Epcot to Rise of the Resistance & Guardians. What do you think?
